Established in 1961, John B. Cooley Law School, Lansing, Michigan.  He was a member of the Cooley Law Review and subsequently worked in the then Cooley Clinic.  He later wrote for the Planning and Zoning News.Mr. Daugherty has served on numerous non-profit boards.  He has also assisted numerous non-profit organizations in their formation and obtaining 501(c)(3) status.
