Raised in Billings, Montana, Troy is a fourth-generation Montanan. He attended Billings West High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Montana College. Upon graduating, he moved to Seattle, where he worked for a Fortune 200 company, applying his business skills and acumen. After many years in the Pacific Northwest, Troy decided to expand upon his education and pursue a career in the law, with the intent of returning to Montana.. In 1993, Troy enrolled at Gonzaga University School of Law, where he completed his Juris Doctorate. I am a Life Member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and a Provisional Member of the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. I also co-founded the first drug treatment court in the state of Montana and I am a member of the Association of Professional Responsibility Lawyers.. I have on occasion, served as an expert witness in federal court on criminal defense matters. Over the course of the last several years, I have published in the area of criminal law, and I have spoken at a number of seminars pertaining to criminal law matters.
