Mr. Murphy was born in White Plains, New York and earned his B.S. from Florida State University. He received his J.D. from Mercer University School of Law in Georgia. Mr. Murphy was admitted to both the Florida and Georgia Bars in 1995. His experience includes internship work with the Office of the State Attorney, Second Judicial Circuit of Florida and Gulf Coast Legal Services. He is a Partner at Legler, Murphy & Battaglia.

I focus my practice on wills, trusts and estates, including probate and trust administrations.  I am board certified by the Florida Bar in Wills, Trusts and Estates and a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estates Counsel.. Our main office is in Bradenton, but we also offer appointments in Holmes Beach, Lakewood Ranch and Parrish.

Anne grew up in Manatee County, Florida and has always served those in her community.  She has witnessed the devastation caused by failure of families to plan for long term care, disabilities and end of life.  Her goal is to make these life challenges easier to negotiate for the Senior as well as for the Senior’s family.  Having practiced law here since 1977, she practices Elder Law which includes probate and estates, estate planning, guardianships, wills, trusts, durable powers of attorney, advance directives, Medicaid planning and Special Needs Trusts.. Anne has been a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys since 1988 and she is a member of the Florida Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, as well as a member of their Elder Abuse Committee.  She is a member of the Florida Bar Association and part of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section.  Anne served on the Florida Bar’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee and on the Grievance Committee for the local circuit. She is a member of the Manatee County Bar Association, having been its treasurer for three years and is presently serving, again, as a board member. She was a founding member of the Manatee County Florida Association of Women Lawyers and served as its treasurer for two years.. In addition to her professional associations, Anne has stayed busy in her community.  She was a founding member and past Treasurer of the Junior League of Manatee County.  Anne was a founding member of the Board of PACE Center For Girls, Inc.  She served as its local board president and on its state board for several years. Anne has also served on the board of the Manatee Glens Corporation, a not-for-profit organization which provides mental health and substance abuse care to residents of Manatee County.. Anne has many interests.  She was a founding member of the Manatee County Council for the Arts and served as their president.  Due to her love of horses, Anne’s daughter’s both showed horses and were on the FSU Equestrian team.  Anne was a member of and provided legal assistance to the Florida Quarter Horse Association.  Anne is a member of Christ Episcopal Church and has served on the alter guild.

Upon graduation, Ms. Mitchell was hired by the premier South Florida personal injury law firm of Bogani & Robes, PLLC. Witnessing quality legal service promoting justice, and bettering the lives of their clients, she decided to attend law school at St. Thomas University School of Law.. As a merit scholarship recipient, Ms. Mitchell excelled academically earning placement on the Dean’s List every semester, named Articles Editor of Law Review, and participated in Moot Court as both a competitor and coach. Ms. Mitchell was site coordinator for the Volunteer Income Taxpayer Assistance (VITA) Site and ensured all personal and business tax returns were prepared correctly and according to IRS guidelines. She graduated Cum Laude and with a Graduate Certificate in Taxation.. With the desire to specialize in the legally complex area of Taxation, Ms. Mitchell then attended one of the nation’s most prestigious tax programs at the University of Florida Levin College of Law Graduate Tax Program, where she earned her Masters of Law in Taxation (LL.M), an additional year of post-law school course work that focused specifically on tax related courses and issues, including such topics as estate planning and taxation, international tax, corporate tax, entity formation, and the taxation of gifts.. In 2013 Ms. Mitchell was hired as Tax Clinic Director of Gulfcoast Legal Services.  She was responsible for resolving all tax issues for clients in Pinellas, Manatee, Sarasota, Charlotte, Lee and DeSoto counties..
