In addition to appearing before City Councils, Town Boards, Administrative Boards, and Minnesota District Courts, Mark has also appeared and enjoyed success before the Minnesota Appellate Court. Mark utilizes a problem solving approach in representing large corporations, non-profits, and individuals in business and real estate matters.. Mark obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree graduating magna cum laude in Legal Studies and Philosophy from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio and received his Juris Doctorate from the University of St. Thomas School of Law. After law school Mr. Severson was an associate for Askegaard & Robinson, P.A. as well as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Erik J. Askegaard. Mark gained significant court room experience as the Assistant Clearwater County Attorney. Currently, Mark is a shareholder in the law firm of Severson Porter Law.. Mark grew up in the Brainerd Lakes Area and achieved his goal of returning home to practice law. Mark loves spending time with his family, watching any Minnesota sports team, and playing golf.

I grew up in Palmer Township, just southeast of St. Cloud, MN. After attending St. Cloud State University to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice Studies, I worked as a juvenile probation officer, construction laborer and paralegal before returning to school to receive my law degree from Hamline University School of Law. Prior to opening Wipper Law and Custody Evaluation Center, PLLC, I worked in several areas around the state, most recently in Brainerd, MN for four and half years.  I have worked on a wide varierty of cases including family law, criminal law, child protection, civil cases, guardianship/conservatorship, gun rights restorations, etc.. Outside of practicing law, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two children. When we aren't running around or playing with the kids, I enjoy outdoor activities and sports.
