I have been specializing in employment-based immigration law for 40 years. My business clients range from small startups to global corporations seeking to employ foreign talent here in the United States. I prepare nonimmigrant visa petitions, labor certifications, and green card applications for skilled workers, investors, entrepreneurs, multinational executives, key managers, and individuals of extraordinary ability. I also prepare family-based immigration petitions, including fiancé visas, naturalization applications, and green cards for relatives of U.S. citizens and permanent residents.
I am a first generation Chinese-American immigrant, married to a French immigrant, and I am an immigration lawyer.. My family immigrated to the U.S. when I was a young child. I faced the challenges of every immigrant: learning English, integrating into the culture of my new home country, and learning about myself in a society where I was a visible minority.. When I married a Frenchman, through him, I experienced the difficulties of an adult immigrant: getting his French education recognized by American companies, postponing plans to find his dream job, and keeping up his confidence in a culture with different social rules and values.. These personal experiences led me to the decision to devote my career to immigration law. I am especially interested in helping married couples with their green card and citizenship application. I chose to specialize in marriage immigration and citizenship because I want to take what I have learned from my own marriage immigration process to help other couples with theirs.. I remember the emotional strain, uncertainty, and helplessness my husband and I felt during the immigration application process. Before my husband and I were married, and while I was a law student, I applied for a fiancé visa for him, on my own. It took hours of learning. I didn't get everything right because I had to submit additional evidence, which meant more waiting and more feelings of being stuck. The whole process was more stressful than final exams.. I share my story so that other couples going through the marriage green card process won’t feel so alone. I would be happy to listen to your story, and help you tell it to the immigration officer so that your application can be approved and you’ll be able to start and build your life together.
