I began my legal career with the 13th Judicial Circuit Office of the Public Defender in 2008 as a Certified Legal Intern. I joined the office as an Associate Attorney in 2009, and was promoted to a Division Chief in 2013. During my time at the PD's office I was lead counsel in over seventy-five jury trials, including offense ranging from DUI, Sex Offenses, Drug Possesion and Trafficking, Homicide, and juveniles charged as adults. In private practice at Tison Law Group, I was lead counsel for both personal injury and criminal cases for helping members of our community. As of October 1, 2021 I will be in private practice with my own law firm, Paul L. Figueroa Law, P. A. I handle personal injury, criminal defense, Marchman Act, and Baker Act cases throughout Florida.. I was raised in Hillsborough County Florida. I graduated from Brandon High School, where I was a Varsity Letterman for BHS's nationally recognized wrestling program. After high school, I attended Florida State University and the University of South Florida. While in undergraduate school I was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity and majored in Political Science. I received my J.D. from Florida Coastal School of law in 2008.
