I have dedicated my entire legal career to criminal defense, through direct representation as well as policy work. Upon graduating from the University of North Carolina School of Law in 2008, I began my legal career as an assistant public defender in Mecklenburg County, protecting the rights of defendants who could not afford otherwise afford legal representation in District and Superior Courts. From 2014 to 2017, I worked for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers in Washington, D.C., organizing training for public defenders and private assigned counsel and advancing reform efforts in various states. From 2017 to 2023, I returned to public defense, working to defend the rights of the accused in serious criminal cases in Camden, New Jersey. In 2023, I returned to North Carolina to continue my career as a criminal defense attorney with The Olsinski Law Firm.. I represent adults charged with misdemeanor and felony offenses in District and Superior Court primarily in Mecklenburg County. I occasionally take cases in surrounding counties, such as Cabarrus and Union, and I am admitted to practice in the federal court of the Western District of North Carolina. Although I represent people charged with a variety of crimes, I have a particular interest in domestic violence defense and cases with Fourth Amendment issues - seeking to keep out evidence that the government obtained in violation of the Constitution. I greatly value communication and strive to always make sure that clients understand the status of their cases, the evidence, and their options.. I am a member of the Mecklenburg County Bar, the Cabarrus County Bar, and the Mecklenburg County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. I also am a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice, including the Criminal Justice Section and the Women's Caucus, and am serving as an Education Co-Chair for the NCAJ Women's Caucus in 2024-2025. My husband and I live in Charlotte with our large rescue dogs. Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, reading, playing games of all kinds, and dining out at Charlotte's many fabulous restaurants. I am also an active member of the Alpha Gamma Delta Charlotte Alumnae chapter.

I have been practicing federal and state criminal defense in Charlotte for over 20 years. Since 2010, I have been a State Bar Board Certified Specialist in State and Federal Criminal Law. Since 2012, I have been selected each year as a North Carolina Super Lawyer and have received the highest peer rating (AV preeminent) from Martindale-Hubbell. I have handled every type of criminal case and have always striven to obtain the best possible results for my clients. Unlike many criminal defense lawyers, I do not run a high volume practice where the client is expected to quickly plead guilty and move on. Instead, I studiously look for weaknesses in the prosecution's case with an eye towards winning the case in front of a jury. I am not afraid to try a case, having tried over 130 jury trials during my legal career. On the other hand, if the case appears to be one which will likely result in a guilty verdict, I use the weaknesses in the prosecution's case and the positive aspects of my client's background to try to negotiate a better plea bargain than would otherwise be offered.

I have been empowering businesses and individuals for over 10 years. Most of my clients mirror who I am as a person: self-made, hardworking, tenacious, dedicated, innovative, and fearless. Whether it is advising clients on how to protect their business’ assets, or preparing a witness for trial, the goal is always the same: to empower the client, to make them stronger, better, more prepared so that they can reach their goals and succeed. I consider several of my clients to be close personal friends and try to approach each new client with the intention that the relationship be a lasting one.. I have had the unique opportunity to see the practice of law from a variety of different viewpoints having worked for a North Carolina State Court prior to going to law school, clerked for the Department of Justice during law school, and working for a large United States Government contractor and private law firms after graduating law school.. I am a Master Gardener with the North Carolina Mecklenburg County Extension Master Gardeners, and a member of Frazier Park Community Garden.  I am also a member of Carolina Breast Friends where I try to offer advice and comfort to individuals who have recently been diagnosed with breast cancer.. After being the first in my family to graduate from college, I left the comfort of my hometown in Eastern North Carolina and moved to Washington, D.C., where I quickly became a foodie.  I prefer to spend my free tim surrounded by nature and can often be seen gardening with my partner George in the front yard of their home, riding my bike to the office, and walking out cats, Roger Parker and Marco Money, on a leash in Freedom Park.

I grew up in a small, rural town in North Carolina where family is an essential aspect of everyone’s life. I came to value the importance of family and what it means when a family goes through a divorce or custody dispute. All families see challenges in many forms from time to time. I realized that more than anything, I just wanted to help all involved. This inspired me to be the first in my family to complete my undergraduate studies. After attending Wingate University in Wingate, North Carolina and working around Charlotte, I knew I wanted my life to have a deeper impact. I then attended Charlotte School of Law in Charlotte, North Carolina to obtain my juris doctorate. This helped me to reach my goal be able to advocate for and assist the people of North Carolina and help those families I had come to love.. As an attorney, my goal is for each client to find peace and a reasonable resolution for their family. As an advocate for my clients, I want them to be heard but also empowered with the facts and laws surrounding their case so we can work together to find a path forward. I’ve watched the detrimental effects that pro-longed litigation can cause on a family unit both, emotionally and financially. I understand that people come to me in some of their darkest times for help and that they want to move forward in a positive light; I have the tools and power to help them do so. I appreciate the opportunity to get to know your family and entrusting me with managing healthy expectations and goals for your case.. I pride myself on being professional and prepared for the task at hand. I enjoy getting to know clients through this process. My passion for helping others extends beyond the legal realm. I have been involved in raising money for the Alzheimer’s Association for several years as it is an organization that is near to my heart. Additionally, I use my talents to help victims in domestic violence situations through volunteering with Safe Alliance and by helping children through the Council for Children’s Rights.. In my spare time, I enjoy traveling and spending time with my husband, our two children, and our three dogs. I also enjoy running and listening to a good podcast!

I discovered my passion for juvenile law by accident. I edited a magazine in Washington, D.C., for years before deciding at age 29 to go to law school.  Following graduation, my husband and I moved to Charlotte and had our first child, who had severe brain damage following several strokes. I put the idea of law on the back burner, volunteering for various charities and advocating for my son.. Eventually I entered the work force again as volunteer coordinator  at the Children's Law Center, a nonprofit dedicated to representing juveniles in all legal matters. Within a year I was representing juveniles in delinquency and mental health commitment hearings, with a foray into special education, but I concentrated on delinquency. Eight years later I opened my own law firm but after two years returned to the Center. I stayed another two years before I had to stop practicing to care for my three boys.  In 2016, I re-entered the legal world at Fisher Law Group. In March of 2020, I began practicing with my husband, Bob Bollinger.. At The Bollinger Law Firm, I maintain my focus on juvenile law by continuing to represent juveniles in delinquency cases and defending parents whose children are in danger of removal from custody by the Department of Social Services or are already in DSS custody.   I also do name changes, emancipation,  expunctions for those interested in cleaning up their  criminal records, and guardianship.

I believe the most important thing an attorney can do for their clients is to educate them so they are empowered to make the decisions that will be most beneficial to them. Family law is an extremely personal field and a relationship between an attorney and client is at the forefront of solving the issues that will arise. I have been practicing family law almost exclusively for six years and have had the opportunity to help hundreds of clients with issues ranging from custody, child support, divorce, alimony, equitable distribution, and other issues that come along with all of these claims.. I am a firm believer in attempting to resolve issues through alternative dispute resolutions (out of court), but also preparing for litigation contemporaneously. As your family law attorney, I will get to know your case on a ground level so your matter can be tailored to fit your specific lifestyle. I strive to not only help guide your legal matter, but to be available to you for any practical advice that may be needed along the way.. Outside of the legal world, you can find me volunteering with local organizations, shooting high scores of golf in the surrounding area, and cheering on THE Ohio State University.

I began practicing law because I wanted to help people.  Working for a large law firm initially gave me exposure to different types of legal matters, but it did not provide the contact with clients that I desired.  In 2004, I opened my own practice and have thoroughly enjoyed working directly with my clients to help solve their complex legal problems.. When I first opened my practice, I was fortunate to have two senior attorneys mentor me in employment law.  They encouraged me to appeal three of my racial discrimination lawsuits to the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, and I was hooked.  During the beginning years of my own practice, I was also fortunate to assist in the adoption of two of my nephews.  Adoption law is very near and dear to my heart, and I have no greater pleasure than to help adoptive parents and their adoptive children.. Working with clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives is rewarding to me.  Many of my clients are repeat customers, referrals, and friends.  I keep my clients fully informed of all action I take on their behalf, and return telephone calls within 24 hours.  I can be a “bulldog” when necessary, but I am to obtain the best results for my clients in all matters.. In 2017, I opened Everett Law, PLLC to further my employment, family and adoption law practice.  I always place the client and their needs first and foremost.  If you are looking for an attorney who will zealously advocate on your behalf, please contact me at to set up a consultation.. I look forward to meeting you!

What does this mean for you? It means that I will work with you throughout your case to make sure you obtain the best possible settlement. I am a keen believer that your family issues should be resolved by ensuring that you have control over the outcome rather than a stranger, such as a Judge. While we have some excellent judges in Mecklenburg, Gaston, and the surrounding counties, I encourage my clients to work hard to resolve their issues through mediation, collaborative law sessions, settlement meetings or judicial settlement conferences.. You might be wondering what happens if we cannot settle outside of court. If we cannot settle your case, then we fight.  I have had the opportunity to attend some of the best trial advocacy training programs in the country. I am passionate about using my training as a mediator and collaborative lawyer (and my time having taught negotiaiton & conflict resolution skills in law school and continuing legal education) to help people and businesses resolve complex disputes in as cost-effective a manner as possible.. Conflict is always expensive-- particularly in terms of the time, stress, energy, and money that often have to be spent dealing with it. The litgaition process is one way to resolve conflict and disputes, but it is not the only way.  And it is rarely if ever the most efficient, quickest, affordable, or enjoyable way. Not a single client has ever approached me after a trial or after having his or her deposition taken and said, "Wow, that was so much fun!  Let's do it again soon, shall we?" And never has a client who paid me to take a matter all the way through depositions, hearings, and trial ever thought I didn't get paid enough for my efforts, and decided to throw in a little something extra for my efforts because he or she felt bad for me.. If you allow our firm the privilege of reviewing your complex family law or business or probate administration dipsute, we will be sure to evaluate all the options avaialble for protecting or enforcing your rights. If your case is a fit for a collborative law approah, anf the other side can be persuaded to come to the same conlcusion--for the sake of saving everyone time, money, and stress, then we are uniquiely positioned to assit If filing a suit--or defending yourself in one that has already been filed against you-- is the most cost-effective means of addressing the situation, given the amount in controversy, personalities, interpersonal dynamics, and complexity of the legal issues presented, then we will pursure that route vigorously.  But we will always keep our eyes open for avenues of resolving the dispute more quickly or affordably, whenever possible--whether thru mediaiton or some form of collaborative law process.

I am passionate about the law and I care about my clients. These qualities make me a strong advocate to have on your side during this very difficult time in your life. As a mother, I know how much your children mean to you and how you would do anything to shelter them from harm. Children are often the innocent victims in their parents’ divorce. While it may be impossible to shield them entirely from the impact of your divorce, I will work with you to minimize the impact on your children as much as possible. My goal is to educate you regarding North Carolina law and how it applies to your case, so that you understand all your options. Divorce can be a terrifying experience, but I will empower you with the knowledge of what to expect every step of the way. I majored in mathematics and then worked in the banking industry for many years prior to becoming an attorney, so I have a strong financial background to handle complex financial support and property division cases. I’ve represented clients in Brunswick, Forsyth, Davie, Davidson, Rowan, Alexander, Iredell, Catawba, Mecklenburg, Cabarrus, Gaston and Union counties, on matters involving child custody, child support, equitable distribution, post-separation support, alimony, contempt, and breach of contract claims. Not every case requires litigation, and many cases can be resolved out of court using alternative dispute resolution methods such as collaborative law, arbitration, and mediation. But if litigation becomes necessary, you can rely on my years of trial experience to protect your interests in the courtroom.
