Prior to starting my own law firm, I was an associate and partner at Tillman Wright, PLLC. Before joining Tillman Wright, I began my legal career in the Charlotte office of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, a large Ohio-based firm. I have also served as Vice President and General Counsel at Edison Nation, a technology and entertainment startup based in Charlotte.. Before becoming a lawyer, I worked in the Business and Legal Affairs department at Mammoth Records. I received my bachelor's degree in Music Business from Radford University in 1996 and my law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2001.. I am a frequent author and speaker on a variety of legal topics including business and corporate law, intellectual property (particularly trademark law), online gaming, entertainment law, asset protection planning, technology, health care law and open innovation.
