My passion to help others in tough circumstances drove me straight from college to law school, and I earned my law degree from Charlotte School of Law. I practice predominantly in Mecklenburg County and the surrounding areas. I focus my practice on guardianships, estate planning, estate administration, litigation, business formation, contract drafting and family law. Primarily on the litigation side, I handle cases involving incompetency, guardian of the person, guardian of the estate, separation, divorce, equitable distribution, alimony and post-separation support, child custody, child support, misdemeanors, traffic-related matters, and some civil litigation. I handle various non-litigation matters, including tailoring and drafting estate plans (wills, trusts, power of attorney), probate matters, uncontested divorces, drafting separation agreements, business formations, and various contract review and drafting.

Mark D. Gott’s legal journey began as an Assistant Clerk for the Mecklenburg County Superior Court, where he presided over incompetency hearings, foreclosures, adoptions, and probate matters. Today, Mark focuses on elder abuse and guardianship cases, while also managing residential, tax, and commercial foreclosures.
