Michelle L. Ringel focuses her practice on matrimonial law, including divorce, child custody, alimony, child support and parenting time.. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Ringel served as a judicial law clerk in the Burlington County Family Division for the Hon. John L. Call, Jr., Presiding Judge of the Family Part, and the Hon. John Tomasello in the Superior Court of New Jersey. While there she reviewed motions and property settlement agreements, and established child support guidelines.. Ms. Ringel also worked at the South Jersey Mediation Center where she mediated full divorces. In addition, she was a mediator at the Good Shepherd Mediation Program where she mediated custody/parenting time for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Family Court, Domestic Relations Unit, and trained new mediators. She also served as a pre-hearing facilitator for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Family Division, Juvenile Court.

I am Certified by the NJ Supreme Court in both Civil and Criminal Trial law, one of only a few lawyers in the state to hold both certifications.. I am actively practicing in the areas of: Medical and Nursing home negligence; automobile and other serious injury cases, including falls and work related injury; and criminal and municipal court matters, both indictable and disorderly cases and DUI cases.. I pride myself on my communications with my clients: telephone calls and questions are answered as are emails, as soon as is possible.. Being involved in a case, civil or criminal, is a very nervous time for our clients and I do my very best to put all my clients at ease and answer their questions to the best of my ability.. I practice law full time.. Outside of the office, I am an active cyclist and enjoy my time with my family and friends.

Early in my career I served as a judicial  law clerk for the Chief Judge of the United States District Court (federal court) in New Jersey.. My enire practice has been focussed on litigation - for personal injury matters and for divorce matters.. I was a certified trial attorney in New Jersey for over 25 yeasrs- something only about 5% of the lawyers in the state achieve.. In addition to my law practice, i have had a career of public service. I was a councilman in mount Laurel township for three years, Mayor for one year and a planning board member for two years.. I have also been involved with the youth of my community. i coached baseball for over seven years and was the director of the entire baseball program for two years. As director, i rzn a program with over 70 coaches, forty team and about 500 youngsters.. I have been teaching other lawyers how to be good trial lawyers for over ten years.  i have taught in NJ, CO, IL and NM.  I am also an adjunct professor at the Rutgers School of Law.. I have been fortunate to argue a number of cases in the appellate courts in New Jersey, including the New Jersey supreme Court.. I have been published in the family law area and have recently produced a guide to the new alimony law.

As a divorced mother of two, I'm passionate about getting others through their family issues in the most positive and economically advantageous way possible.  There is more than one way to divorce and the process is not one size fits all. In all family matters, lawyers need to consider the client's emotions, the personalities of the parties, the needs of the children and the assets involved in determining how to proceed.  Every case is unique, and the cost involved needs to be justified by the potential outcome. Going through my own divorce gave me a unique perspective that allows me to be compassionate and truly understand the need to fight for my clients who can't fight for themselves. I believe that this compassion and understanding is just as important as my 20 years of legal experience. I'm grateful to be in a profession where I can connect with people in such a meaningful way and help them in their time of need.
