My passion for litigation began while in law school where I was selected as the senior member on the National Invitational Trial Advocacy Team and earned the Warren D. Wolfson Award for Best Trial Advocate of the entire law school. After obtaining my law degree with honors in 2003, I served as a prosecutor with the Cook County State's Attorney's Office and rapidly ascended the ranks becoming one of the youngest prosecutors ever to earn the title of 'Special Prosecutor'. While there, I successfully tried over 50 complex bench and jury trials to verdict on behalf of the People of the State of Illinois. In 2007, I joined the law firm of Paul B. Episcope, LLC where I utilized those trial skills in pursuit of justice for injured individuals and their families in the civil arena. In 2011, my partners and I founded the Chicago-based personal injury law firm of Tarpey, Jones & Schroeder, LLC. To date, I successfully have tried several criminal and civil jury trials to verdict, have recovered millions of dollars on behalf of my clients, have argued in both the First and Second District Appellate Courts of Illinois and have been selected as a Super Lawyer "Rising Star" in Illinois for my accomplishments. My extensive trial experience has provided me with the necessary tools to represent my clients with excellent results.
My intellectual property practice focuses on trademark clearance and selection, registration of trademarks in the U.S. and internationally, copyright registration, advising clients on trademark, trade dress and copyright protection and infringement issues, and Internet domain name disputes, representing clients in trademark opposition and cancellation proceedings before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s Trademark Trial and Appeal, and in trademark, trade secret, copyright and patent litigation matters. I have extensive experience counseling clients on branding and re-branding initiatives and brand protection strategies to maximize trademark and intellectual property rights. In addition to my trademark and intellectual property practice, I have extensive experience representing clients in complex business disputes, including in federal and state trial and appellate level litigation and arbitration proceedings.

MY PROMISE TO YOU INCLUDES:
My practice is focused on trials involving serious injury and wrongful death. I handles cases stemming from auto, truck, and bus accidents, medical negligence, unsafe property conditions, construction injuries, dangerous products, and police misconduct
My practice and that of the firm, remains limited to family law. Our office concentrates on all aspects of family law including divorce, child custody, all financial aspects related to divorce and separation. We have extensive trial and appellate experience on issues related to child custody, tracing and classification of assets and income, division of property and child support and maintenance (formerly known as alimony). Some recent noteworthy successes include: The classification of Husband's stock in a closely held corporation as marital property. Prior to the marriage Husband held 2305 fully vested and exercisable stock options at a strike price of $1.00 per share. The options were not exercised until two years after the marriage and the strike price paid with marital funds. At the time of trial the stock was valued in excess of $6,000,000. The Wife, our client, was awarded $2,500,000 for her interest in the stock, from an investment of $2,305 of marital funds. We successfully defended the Judgment on appeal in the Second District Appellate Court and on a Petition for Leave to Appeal to the Illinois Supreme Court. The reversal of an award of exclusive possession of the marital residence to Wife. On Appeal in the First District Appellate Court, the trial court was found to have erred in ordering the Husband to vacate the marital residence due to the claim that his presence caused the Wife stress and discomfort. This was the first published case on the issue of exclusive possession in 17 years.

My aim is to explain each step to you along the way, and to take care of everything so that you can concentrate on getting better. I'll give you guidance and counsel to help you recover from the injuries you've sustained and to level the playing field against the insurance megastructure that has only one goal in mind, and that is to come out ahead in the claim. My firm is here for your protection, first and foremost. If you have been accused or arrested for criminal activity, we provide the best representation. Our skilled criminal defense team practices aggressive, proactive and highly-creative defense strategies to protect your rights. Why? Because we know there are thousands of innocent people spending time in prison for something they didn't do! The driving force behind this law firm is our desire to protect your rights and your liberty. Our results are outstanding. In fact quite often our experience in the courtroom ensures that many cases avoid the necessity of everhaving to go to trial. Our extensive relationships with the prosecutors, courtroom personnel and the judiciary resuilt in numerous charges being dismissed entirely or at the very least having your charges reduced so as to avoid ANY prison or jail incarceration and avoiding ANY criminal record that would affect future employment, education, the ability to obtain housing or even obtaining a loan from a financial institution.. Each criminal case is unique, and only an experienced specialist can anticipate the infinite variables in every criminal case. We provide the type of representation that a criminal defendant needs to successfully protect their rights. The truth is, no matter what the person's intelligence or educational background, the criminal justice system makes it virtually impossible to do a competent job of representing oneself. That’s our job. We have represented thousands of clients in Cook, Lake, DuPage, Will, McHenry and Kane counties, in addition to Federal Courts in Illinois.. Regardless of who you employ for legal representation, allow us to offer this piece of advice:you should strongly avoid discussing your case or signing any statements against your interest without having an experienced criminal defense attorney at your side. As you may be aware, any statement made can and will be used against you by the prosecution.. Additionally, you would be well-advised to avoid entering a plea of guilty on any offense without the sound advice of a defense attorney. It makes no difference whether the crime is a small misdemeanor or a serious felony. Any conviction on your criminal record may have adverse affects to your future employment.. It may seem dauting at first, but contacting an attorney at the very beginning of a case can be the smartest move you make. We are available 24/7 to provide you with a FREE consultation with no obligation. Mr. Freidberg will provide you with general guidance and straight forward answers to the questions that are probably going through your mind right now. CALL US:
