I've been a trial lawyer for over 35 years. I graduated from Yale in 1981, and NYU Law School in 1984. My career began with 4 years as a criminal prosecutor in 1984, and then 10 years at a mid-sized Chicago law firm where I became a partner. I have litigation training from some of the best trial lawyers in the city.. I opened my law office in 1998. In addition to practicing law full time, I've been teaching trial skills to practicing lawyers every year since 1994 as a faculty member with The National Institute for Trial Advocacy; and I've been teaching trial skills to law students as an adjunct professor of law at Northwestern Law School every year since 1995.. Because I practice law and also teach trial skills to practicing lawyers and law students, I am constantly studying and using the skills that make a trial lawyer successful. I use that combination of study and experience to benefit my clients. If you need a lawyer to handle business litigation, civil rights litigation, employment litigation, criminal post-conviction or federal habeas proceedings, or an appeal in state or federal court, call for a free consultation.

One of my greatest enjoyments is as a coach for my kids' baseball, softball, and basketball teams, which I have done for more than 6 years. My favorite hobbies include cooking, smoking meats, and playing guitar.
I love baseball, boxers and bankruptcy. And not necessarily in that order. I fell into the practice of bankruptcy law years and years ago, and it has been a perfect match for me. I love getting rid of debts, and helping folks get back on track with their financial lives. It gives me great pleasure to wipe out credit card debts and even the IRS debts. I fell into the perfect job for me.. After years and years of Cub fan futilism, I made the switch to the White Sox. In time for the 2005 World Series, so that was great. Now i feel the Cubs calling me back, and am feeling White Sox futilism.....it may be too late for me to switch back. We will see. But I love baseball and am a huge fan. Period.. Boxers too. I love my Boxer male, but he passed away about two years ago. I want him back. That's futile too. I miss taking him to work with me. I think i am almost ready for another. Hopefully soon.
