Akin to the most notable historical Alexander, he enjoys solving the 21st century’s version of the Gordian knot - complex business disputes. These types of legal controversies often contain a multitude of problems and he employs an analytic approach to solving them-- first identifying his clients’ objectives and then creating a strategy to achieve them. Mr. Passo takes great pride in assisting clients in resolving these types of disputes in an efficient and effective manner.He received a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN, where he majored in history and law & society. Thereafter, he attended the Illinois Institute of Technology Chicago-Kent College of Law where he graduated magna cum laude in 2014. Mr. Passo served as Editor-in-Chief of a law journal and argued in a national moot court competition. Additionally, while attending law school, Mr. Passo simultaneously worked part-time for the Patterson Law Firm, LLC, as well as another prominent Chicago trial law firm, and was an extern for the Honorable Elizabeth A. McClanahan of the Supreme Court of Virginia. He is originally from Northwest Indiana, and currently resides in Northwest Indiana.  In his free time, he can be found pounding the pavement on a run, working on his golf game, or on a walk with his dogs in the Indiana Dunes.

Alexander Loftus has won a wide range of significant cases through mediation, arbitration, and trial including claims arising from breach of contract, fraud, construction, shareholder suits, malpractice, and employment. Alexander has handled appeals before the Seventh Circuit, Illinois Appellate Courts, United States Supreme Court, and represented Amicus Curiae before the Illinois Supreme Court.. In 2013 through 2020 Super Lawyers named Alexander as being one of less than 2.5% of Illinois attorneys under age 40 selected for inclusion in Illinois Super Lawyers Rising Stars.  Alexander was also included in the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Illinois by the National Trial Lawyers for 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2017. In 2014 Alexander was included in the Top 40 Litigators Under Age 40 by the American Society of Legal Advocates. The American Society of Legal Advocates exclusive membership comprises less than 1.5% of all licensed attorneys nationwide. In 2017 Alexander was included in Acquisition International’s Ones to Watch in Intellectual Property 2017 .. Alexander grew up in a small town in Southern Wisconsin and went to college in Saint Paul, Minnesota and Washington, D.C. In college he studied Political Science and was a member of Pi Sigma Alpha (national political science honor society). While studying at American University, Alexander held his first legal position as an investigator for Mental Health Division of Public Defender Service for the District of Columbia. Shortly thereafter, he graduated from DePaul University College of Law with honors in 2010. While at DePaul he was an Editor and Staff Writer for the DePaul/Commercial Law League of America Business & Commercial Law Journal.
