Jessica is a born and raised Las Vegas native. She received both her Juris Doctorate and her Bachelor’s degree from UNLV. She graduated from the William S. During her time at Boyd, Jessica participated in Boyd’s International Human Rights Practicum in India, where she interviewed factory workers subjected to human rights violations, and co-authored a UN report to the Special Rapporteur. I've been practicing for over 30 years. I have handled virtually every type of criminal case. I won a case in front of the United States Supreme Court. I was able to get a death sentence reversed, I have represented  several lawyers and Dr's on DUI cases. None of my lawyer and/or Dr. clients have ever been convicted of a DUI. I also represented a Dr on a sexual assault case and had it dismissed.. I then represented a Dr. that was accused of murder for allegedly casuing a patient overdose that resulted in , with several experts,I was able to show this was not was able to convince the Clark County Coroner to chenge his opinion,which is almost unheard of. Finally I was able to get his murder case dismissed with prejudice,which means the state can never file another murder case based on these facts.. I've lectured at many seminars,in Nevada and several other states teaching other laywers how to practice law. I am also very active in the Nevada stae bar the antional association of Criminal Defense lawyers and  the Stae Affliate, the Nevada Attorneys for Criminal Justice, (WhichI helped found). Also, I am an accomplished musician.. I play the piano and harmonica.. I have performed at many bar also performed at a wedding with the rock group, April Wine. I have written a musical about law school. I work by the book. I don’t cut corners or blur lines. My practice primarily focuses on clients in medical malpractice and commercial litigation matters. In defending medical malpractice claims, I have advised on cases involving anesthesiology, cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, family practice, general surgery, internal medicine, maternal fetal medicine, neurology, nursing care, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, orthopedic surgery, physical medicine, rehabilitation, physical therapy, plastic surgery, psychiatry, pulmonology, radiology, reproductive endocrinology and infertility. I have also represented physicians in administrative fair hearings and matters before the Nevada State Board of Medical Examiners. My defense practice has also extended to other types of personal injury cases involving wrongful death, premises liability, and general negligence.  For commercial litigation cases, I have experience handling contract disputes, wrongful termination actions, and real estate disputes.  Additionally, I have handled appeals to the Nevada Supreme Court and currently serve as an arbitrator for the Eighth Judicial District Court’s arbitration program.  Representative clients include the University Medical Center of Southern Nevada, a trucking company, a home health care company, restaurants, landlords, investors, creditors, and other businesses, insureds, and insurers.

I was 7 years old when I decided to be a lawyer. President Nixon had just resigned and I asked my grandpa about it. He told me the Supreme Court sent him to bed without his dinner because he had been naughty. I decided being a Supreme Coiurt Justice sounded like a pretty great gig and that's how I decided I wanted to be a lawyer.. I took the long way around to being a lawyer, though. I spent 15 years as a newspaper report and then a few as a private investigator. Both those jobs gave me a healthy insight to how the criminal justice system worked, how it didn't work and what folks embroiled in the criminal justice system needed from lawyers.. Every person charged with an offense deserves strong, tough and compassionate legal representation. A client is never just a number to me. I want to know about them, how they found themselves in this situation, what they need to get back on the right track. Every client is somone's child and deserves to be treated with dignity, respect and kindness. That's my promise: you will be treated with diginity, respect and kindness always.
