I began my experience in 2004 as a Criminal Justice major at the University of Michigan - Dearborn.  From there, I began to further diversify by learning the intricacies of family and divorce law by interning in the family division of the Wayne County Circuit Court.. After graduating with honors, I was accepted into the law program at the Univerity of Detroit Mercy School of Law.  During my time at Detroit Mercy, I diversified in a wide variety of studies, but focused on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and Constitutional Law.  With a passion for defending the accused and challenging evidence, I began an externship at the Washtenaw County Office of Public Defender, the most highly recognized public defender's office in the State of Michigan.. After working in civil litigation for a year, Colleen shifted her focus to estate planning and elder law. Colleen was drawn to elder law and estate planning after her grandparents were unable to care for themselves at their home and moved in to an assisted living facility.
