I began my experience in 2004 as a Criminal Justice major at the University of Michigan - Dearborn.  From there, I began to further diversify by learning the intricacies of family and divorce law by interning in the family division of the Wayne County Circuit Court.. After graduating with honors, I was accepted into the law program at the Univerity of Detroit Mercy School of Law.  During my time at Detroit Mercy, I diversified in a wide variety of studies, but focused on Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence, and Constitutional Law.  With a passion for defending the accused and challenging evidence, I began an externship at the Washtenaw County Office of Public Defender, the most highly recognized public defender's office in the State of Michigan.. After passing the bar in 2013, my goal has been to represent citizens of our community with a fair and passionate mindset, but also aggressively advocating for both individual and business rights.  Currently, as a principal partner at Bazzi Law, PLC, in Dearborn Heights, I continue to diversify in a multitude of areas in law practice.. After working in civil litigation for a year, Colleen shifted her focus to estate planning and elder law. Colleen was drawn to elder law and estate planning after her grandparents were unable to care for themselves at their home and moved in to an assisted living facility. Every day, her grandpa worried that their entire life savings would be spent on their care, leaving nothing to their three sons. After her grandma passed away, her grandpa moved in with her parents.. This situation is not uncommon among senior citizens, who are concerned about being a burden on their families.
