Growing up in Oklahoma, I was frequently invovled with children and education. Apart from the usual babysitting, I was also very involved helping with my mother's first grade classroom. I attended Booker T. Washington High School, which is a nationally recognized magnet school. After graduation, I attended the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, New Mexico. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology with an associated minor in Philosophy from UNM. I began attending the University of Denver College of Law in 2000, from which I received my Juris Doctorate in 2003.. I did not take the traditional path to becoming an attorney, however. After graduating from the University of Denver I moved to Dillon, Colorado.
