Cassy's has a passion for representing the accused and fighting for the best outcomes in their cases, whether at or before trial or after a conviction through a direct appeal or postconviciton proceeding alleging ineffective assistance of counsel or illegal sentence or petitioning for sentence reconsideration.. Cassy believes everyone is entitled to highly competent legal representation at every stage of their case and that no one should have to face the system on their own.  Sadly, many attorneys make it impossible to retain qualified counsel because of staggeringly high fees.  Although the public defender system exists to provide counsel to those who cannot afford an attorney on their own, the unfortunate truth is that many who "make too much money" to qualify for court-appointed counsel are in no position to pay the outrageous hourly rates charged by many private defense attorneys, leaving them in the position of having to face the full force of the government and all its resources completely on their own.  This clearly puts them at a steep disadvantage and may lead them to accept plea deals they otherwise may not or to make mistakes throughout their case that cause worse outcomes.. Cassy received her B.S. in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 2000 and spent the next 15 years working in the contract management industry.  Though she always wanted to be a defense attorney, life had other plans for a while. She received her J.D. from the University of Colorado in 2018 after receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Oklahoma State University in 2000.
