In 1979, subsequent to the Islamic revolution of Iran, Nadia immigrated to the United States and continued her studies in Management at Purdue University. Upon graduating in 1982, Nadia earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management with a minor in Industrial Engineering. She then moved to California, settling in San Francisco.. In San Francisco, Nadia was employed by the Electrical Contractors Bid Depository. Although Nadia was hired to be an Administrative Assistant, she was quickly promoted to be the Office Manager. In 1987, Nadia decided to continue her education and pursue her passion of assisting other immigrants. Nadia enrolled in law school and maintained a full-time work schedule. In 1990, Nadia earned a Doctorate of Jurisprudence. In 1991, she was admitted to the State Bar of California.. With the intention of building an immigration practice at the firm, in 1992, Nadia joined the Law Offices of Kayhan S. Shakib. While there, Nadia’s caseload also included matters of personal injury and business litigation.
