Mr. Hartstein was admitted to the New York Bar in 1970 and to the New Jersey Bar in 1973. He is also a member of the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York as well as the District of New Jersey and the Third Circuit. Mr. Hartstein is a lifelong resident of Bergen County. He has been practicing in the state and federal courts of New York and New Jersey for thirty years and is primarily engaged in litigation with a strong emphasis on family law. Mr. Hartstein has been published in the Fordham Law Review and in the New Jersey Family Lawyer, where he co-authored an article on the question of whether or not the execution of a pre-nuptial agreement can waive a spouse's right to her husband's pension under ERISA.
