Quentin focuses his practice on civil litigation and appeals. He is analytical, diligent, and creative, and efficiently solves his clients’ issues.. Prior to joining JVAM, Quentin clerked for Judge Fox on the Colorado Court of Appeals. While there he reviewed briefs, performed legal research, and wrote more than 50 draft opinions on a variety of civil, criminal, and administrative appeals.. He is a graduate of the University of Colorado Law School, where he served as the Editor-in-Chief of the University of Colorado Law Review. Quentin is also familiar with Colorado. During law school, he was a summer associate at a law firm in Glenwood Springs, where he drafted demand letters and motions, and reviewed water records.. Outside the office, Quentin enjoys spending time with his wife, family, and friends. He is an avid skier, mountain biker, and golfer.

James Fosnaught represents a wide range of businesses and individuals and handles  both simple and complex litigation involving construction, corporate disputes, real property disputes including landlord-tenant matters, mechanic’s lien filings, probate and estate litigation, and personal injury matters.  James also works to guide small businesses in their corporate governance and transactional matters.   James practices in both Colorado state and federal courts.. James is active in the community professionally and personally and has served as a director on several non-profits.   James currently serves on the Board of Directors for MPower which  partners with students,  families and schools to teach young people how to achieve their goals and develop effective voices for self-expression.  James also previously Co-Chaired the Garfield County Methamphetamine Task Force.   James is an avid skier and fly-fisher, and a former professional chef.. James has lived in in Colorado since 1996 and the Roaring Fork valley since 2000.

I am an associate attorney at Garfield & Hecht, P.C.’s Glenwood Springs office, I focus on civil litigation and municipal law. During her time at Garfield & Hecht, I have gained experience dealing with all aspects of civil litigation from motions practice to trial. I regularly perform legal work for the firm’s governmental clients, including drafting contracts and other legal documents, preparing ordinances and resolutions, and advising local governing bodies at public meetings. I am also active in Garfield & Hecht’s water law and transactional practice groups.. Prior to joining Garfield & Hecht, I was a summer intern for the Division 5 Water Court. While in law school, I worked for the Utah Governor’s Public Lands Policy Coordination Office, served as a research assistant for several S.J. Quinney College of Law faculty members, and participated in my school’s environmental law clinic. I was also a member of S.J. Quinney’s Pace Environmental Law Moot Court team; my team won best brief in the 2014 competition and was a competition finalist. I grew up in Glenwood Springs and look forward to fostering my legal career in the Roaring Fork Valley.
