The son of a physician, Omar grew upunderstanding the responsibility professionals owe to their clients. Omar started on his road by studying the world over, includingattending the American University in Cairo, the Benjamin FranklinInstitute for Languages in Merida, Mexico and the London School ofEconomics through Ealing College. He went on to earn his undergraduatedegree from DePaul University. DePaul is also where he earned his JurisDoctor degree before being admitted to the Illinois Bar in 1996. Omar's experiences abroad sharpened his legal focus on assisting theneeds of immigrants and foreign workers in the United States. The trustand respect he built advocating for his clients resulted in frequentrequests for additional legal services. This led to Omar developingexpertise in such diverse areas as commercial and residential realestate transactions, contracts, franchise agreements, small businessincorporation, leasing, litigation, trusts, estate planning, andcontractor law. A life long resident of Evanston, Illinois, Mr. Khuri was elected in2007 to the Evanston Township High School District 202 School Board,where he fought to increase the level of education throughcost-effective measures. Mr. Khuri is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and isadmitted to practice before the United States Federal District Courtfor the Northern District of Illinois.

Prior to starting the Law Offices of Ian B. Hoffenberg LLC, Ian Hoffenberg worked as inside counsel for one of the largest law firms in the world handling real estate and other related matters. His experience also includes writing memorandum opinions on a wide variety of civil cases as a judicial clerk in the Chancery Division of the Circuit Court of Cook County, as well as subsequently working in private practice as an advocate attorney on all aspects of complex and commercial litigation matters.. He is a graduate of Chicago Kent College of Law where he graduated with honors and was recognized for his academic achievement. He is also a graduate of the University of Michigan, where he graduated with honors and completed a bachelor of arts in literature.

MY BELIEF IN ESTATE PLANNING. I chose to focus my career on estate planning because of the family and financial planning aspects of the practice.  I enjoy discussing and writing about estate planning, just see my monthly newsletter library.  People are hesitant to think about estate planning–no one wants to think about death–but I find that people always sleep better after they understand the benefits of proper planning and have an estate plan put into place.  Since nothing in life is certain other than death and taxes, it is best to be prepared for both.  An estate plan is not just for your benefit, but for the benefit of your loved ones because it is provides stability during a difficult time.. As an attorney specializing in a complex area of law, it is very important to me to communicate clearly and in a timely manner.  There is nothing worse than paying a lawyer who does not call you back or signing documents that you do not understand.  I encourage clients to ask questions and understand what their documents mean and how they work together to reflect your wishes for your family, health and property.  By clearly communicating the process, purpose and costs of your estate planning we can both have a positive experience in working together to achieve your goals.
