Janese Caruthers was born in Birmingham but raised and schooled in Macon, GA. She is a graduate of Furman University and Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. Ms. Caruthers won several leadership awards during both undergraduate studies and law school. Ms. Caruthers joined the Office of the Public Defender in 2007 in the Lee County Office. During 2010, she had more felony jury trials of all assistant public defenders in the 20th Judicial Circuit, including a two-week long jury trial.
