Matt earned his Juris Doctor from Salmon P. Chase College of Law where he attended the evening division as an adult professional. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Thomas More College. Matt completed a two-year legal apprenticeship prior to licensure under the direct guidance of John R. Kummer, longtime Northern Kentucky attorney and former Kenton County Deputy Master Commissioner.. Prior to attending law school, Matt worked for a private group of international consumer brands and overseas manufacturing partners. In this role, he engaged in product and brand development strategies for the United States retail market. Matt worked alongside the major retail corporate offices of home centers, mass merchants, and wholesale clubs. Matt quickly became well-versed in consumer products compliance standards issued by Underwriters Laboratory (UL), U.S. Department of Energy, and state-level consumer product laws, primarily in California.. Matt’s extensive experience in brand development and international business operations gives him the ability to adapt to his various clients’ needs. What led Matt to become a lawyer was part of a career evolution that gave him 20+ years of valuable and practical experience before he ever stepped foot inside a law school. Matt decided to pursue a career in law so that he could better engage in work that serves a meaningful purpose. Matt discovered that he wanted to invest his time in helping those in his local community and retire his frequent flyer status for a life spent closer to home.. Matt is married to his amazing wife, Erika, of over 15 years and together they have a teenage son and daughter. Matt credits Erika for his success and believes that his professional journey would not be possible without her support. In his free time, Matt plays guitar and piano, enjoys trips to Costco, and seeks out new restaurants in the area.
I'm a Northern Kentucky born, bred and educated attorney with strong roots in the Greater Cincinnati area. I've been practicing for 27 years and focus my practice on litigation - anything from the misdemeanor criminal matters to the largest medical malpractice matter. I've won millions in verdicts for my clients in medmal and personal injury/auto claims. I've tried murder cases as well as traffic tickets. I have resolved thousands of family law matters for clients over the years in and out of the courtroom. I never back down from a hard case and absolutely love being inside a courtroom with a jury of 12 people intently deciding a case. I won't sell you short for a buck, and I will always give you an honest evaluation of your case and the facts; that's my promise to you.
I have spent over 27 years representing both business entities and individuals in a wide array of legal matters, and practice extensively in the areas of Corporate/Business (formations and transactions), Employment and Labor, Estate Planning and Probate, Contracts/Leases, Commercial, Construction, Real Estate, Banking, Environmental and General Litigation.. No client is too small or too big, and my goal in the practice of law is to provide each client with the hands-on, drop everything attention they deserve.. I am the President of the Vent Haven Museum in Ft. Mitchell, Kentucky, the only museum in the world dedicated exlusively to the art of ventriloquism; am the President of the Beechwood Educational Foundation; serve as a Director of the Northern Kentucky Port Authority, and formerly served as the Chairman of the Construction Law Section of the Northern Kentucky Bar Association.. I have made numerous appearances at the Cincinnati Real Estate Investors Association, addressing issues of asset protection and other legal issues in the area of real estate; and have been a featured guest and made multiple appearances on radio talk shows, addressing issues of asset protection and other legal issues in the area of real estate and business.. My wife Kim, son Tyler and I are members of St. Agnes Church and reside in Ft. Wright, Kentucky.
