I am a Fresno based federal and state criminal defense and government investigations attorney.  I provide the highest level of service for my clients.. I understand how federal and state prosecutors think - how they decide whether or not to file a criminal charge and what persuades them to decline filing, dismiss a case, or reduce the charges.  I know how to challenge the admissibility of evidence (suppression motions)  and how to present a criminal case to a jury or Judge.  My experience includes over 100 criminal jury trials.. For ten years I was the Chief of the Violent Crime and Narcotics Unit for the United States Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of California, Fresno.  My review and approval was needed for every wiretap, grand jury indictment, and plea bargain.  I evaluated every petition for commutation or pardon relating to a drug or violent crime conviction.  I personally prosecuted hundreds of federal criminal cases including conspiracy, drug and marijuana offenses, tax, money laundering, fraud, civil rights, firearms, assault, offenses by federal correctional officers and inmates, and offenses on federal land including Yosemite National Park and Sequoia Kings Canyon National Park.  I also have extensive experience in presenting cases to the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.. My experience also includes five years as a state court prosecutor with the Tulare County District Attorney’s Office.  The jury trials I presented ranged from driving under the influence through burglary, robbery, sexual assault, and murder. I have used the California Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) to suppress digital evidence obtained when law enforcement searched a cell phone. A client's felony case was recently dismissed becasue we successfully moved for Mental Health Diversion (Penal Code ) and my client successfully completed her mental health program.. Facing a government investigation or criminal charges is stressful and involves serious potential consequences.  If you find yourself in the unfortunate position of being investigated or charged with a criminal offense, I look forward to the opportunity to speak with you.

During bar exam study I spent an extensive amount of time in Fowler, even working with an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney who had his office in Fowler.  I frequented the Fowler Starbucks for my later study sessions, and still visit Fowler starbucks on a regular basis for my early morning reading, studying for my courses in Forensic Science as I work toward my third Masters Degree. The path toward being one of the most extensively edcuation attorneys in the state is built with hard work, effort, desire, and education.. I knew before I ever began law school that being the best Criminal Defense / DUI Defense Attorney in the valley, and serving the Fresno, Fowler, Selma, Kingsburg, Caruthers, Reedley, Clovis, Dinuba area communities was a goal of mine.. Ambitions:. DUI Drug and Marijuana DUI are becoming more frequent.  I also testify as an exprert.  In and effort to be better at both, I will attend an Advance Roadside Impaired Driving (ARIDE) course on Drug Recognition Exams (DRE's) which will help round out my DUID knowledge and expertise.  I will make these things happen, and continue on my goal to be the best DUI Criminal Defense Attorney.  Being a Top Rated Fresno DUI Defense Attorney takes a lot of effort, education, and desire.  I have those attributes and will continue to expand my education and hone my skills.

In 1985, Stuart decided to change the direction of his career in pursuit of his desire to advocate for Valley residents devasted by personal injury. So, with that goal in mind, he said goodbye to the prominent law firm with the corporate insurance clients and hung his shingle outside a small office in Fresno. It was there he began representing clients victimized by serious motor vehicle collisions, pedestrian accidents, and victims of medical malpractice. His expertise soon grew to include assisting elderly residents and their families who have suffered from abuse or neglect at the hands of caretakers, nursing homes, hospitals and resident care facilities. Stuart will take on the big insurance corporations for bad faith claims, companies in class action proceedings for unpaid and incorrectly paid employee wages, and other negligent acts resulting in injury or harm.. Chandler Law specializes in the field of Plaintiff’s trial litigation in all courts, State and Federal throughout California. Stuart Chandler has obtained over $100,000, in verdicts and settlements on behalf of his clients. In 2007, Stuart received the largest insurance bad faith verdict in Central California for $26,000,000.
