"Living the dream. . . Loving what I do, doing what I love.” I’m very thankful to be a part of a great and supportive legal community. A native of Gatlinburg, Tennessee, these mountains are my home and my roots are deep in East Tennessee. I feel fortunate that I have the opportunity to serve this great community in assisting with life’s difficult issues. I like to think I help my clients navigate the complex legal system and demistify the otherwise daunting process. I am a problem solver and a fighter. I keep my clients informed during representation and always try to keep the lines of communication open. I work hard to ensure that my clients' rights are protected. I co-host a radio show Legal Lines to educate the general public of their rights, answer general legal questions, and explore various legal ideas and topics. I volunteer with the Order of Protection docket several times each year in Sevier County to further serve my community. I’m a member of our local bar associations, Sevier and Cocke County, the Tennessee Bar Association, and the National College of DUI Defense (NCDD). I graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1994 and received a JD from Ohio Northern Claude W Petit School of Law in 1998. I was licensed to practice in Fall on 1998, worked for Clyde ‘Scutter’ Dunn in Newport, Tennessee, for a couple of years until I started a solo practice in January 2001. I took a brief hiatus from full time law practice while I owned and ran businesses in Gatlinburg. Upon my return to full time practice, I discovered a passion for Criminal Defense and devote much of my practice to this. I am a Rule 31 Listed Family and Civil Mediator and Bankruptcy Practitioner (Chapter 7). I still enjoy General Practice as it adds variety and diversity to what I do. I still draft contracts and agreements of all sorts and some Wills and Trusts. I began my career in Family Law with Adoptions, Divorces and Custody cases and continue to take a few, as time permits, in light of my Criminal Practice.. “Just another day in paradise.”
