No good thing ever happens in court. Most lawyers won't tell you this.. When a new client comes to my office, I do everything in my power to convince them not to involve attorneys. I do not relish helping grownups fight over toys in a sandbox. If I am told, "It's the principal," I ask a prospective client please to articulate said principal. Nine times out of ten, they cannot do so. For those that do come up with an answer, I then ask if the stated principal is worth $100,, which is about the least they can expect to pay for litigation through trial. Clients who have not been through litigation often don't understand that the other side is likely not interested in what's right, what's fair, or what the outcome should be. Rather, the other side is probably interested in one thing: billing fees. (Note: If your lawyer has monogrammed coasters, you are paying too much in attorneys' fees.) Sadly, most lawyers are not in the business of pursuing justice, they are in the business of making money. This should change your cost-benefit analysis before pursuing litigation.. Nevertheless, unfortunately there are times when lawyers become a necessary evil. I am a pragmatist, which is an odd feature in a my profession. My clients know that I am all about efficiency and care about their bottom line. I do everything in my power to minimize fees and expedite results while delivering quality work product. I see zealous representation as a job description. If I do not believe in your case, I won't take it.

Hi: For over 37 years I have practiced injury law and now that is the only law I practice. Over those 37 years, I have honed a degree of knowledge and expertise that is difficult for other attorneys to match. For the first 16 years of my practice, I worked with my father in a small town in Ohio. Those small-town values followed me to the big city, which is why I have designed my practice around a single core belief - client service first and foremost. I have worked with my paralegal for 20 years now, and we operate with the same core value structure: We answer the phone, respond to emails, and put 100% effort into each and every file.. We have 37 years of experience. We bring small-town values to the big city: Responsiveness and results.
For over 30 years, I have represented persons in matters in which the litigant(s) -- parent, grandparent, foster parent, the child, or others -- have become involved with AZ Child Protective Services (now known as Department of Child Safety). Whether I am privately-retained as legal counsel or court-appointed to serve as attorney, I advocate vigorously on behalf of ALL of my clients. I fight CPS (DCS). I represent natural and adoptive parents who are defending DCS involvement with their family. I also represent some. foster parents seeking to become permanent placement for the children in their care, when DCS (CPS) 'policy' may not support maintaining the children with the foster family. I represent foster parents, grandparents, other relatives, other significant others who are seeking to intervene in proceedings. When the birth parents are unable to resume parenting responsibilities, there are often MANY people who wish to become the permanent custodian. In choosing between competing litigants, the Court considers the best interests of the child(ren) to be paramount. As your advocate, I present the best possible arguments, authority and evidence that YOU are the person who should be allowed to adopt or become legal guardian. I represent persons who wish to adopt their stepchild(ren). I represent parties in post-dissolution Family Court proceedings who are seeking modification of child custody orders. As a trained mediator, I will explore whether mediation with you and the other parent may be helpful. However, if negotiated settlement is not appropriate or possible, I am a strong advocate with superior litigation (courtroom) skills. I am an experienced adoption attorney -- in both domestic and international adoptions. I am an international adoptive parent myself. I have considerable expertise in immigration law issues relating to children.

As a young attorney, I built my own practice in the commercial and real estate litigation groups of a mid-sized firm in the Phoenix East Valley. After just 4 years, I was managing the firm’s booming foreclosure department. My experience includes trials in the Arizona Superior Court and US District Courts, appeals in the Arizona Court of Appeals and Arizona Supreme Court and motion practice in the US Supreme Court.. I have also developed a strong resume in advising national and international companies by improving client relations, built business into new markets and maintaining legal compliance. I have served as global sales manager and general counsel for an international manufacturing firm; vice president of legal affairs for a national construction lien company; and business development director for a premier litigation finance firm.. Outside of the office, I am an outdoorist at heart. I love Arizona’s natural wonders. Whether I am backpacking, canyoneering, kayaking or running – I just can’t get enough of it. As time and opportunity allow, I have a goal to backpack the entire 770 mile Arizona Trail in segments. I want to experience what Arizona has to offer from the Mexican border to the Utah state line.
