He is an Eagle Scout, and has worked numerous summers at Camp Arrowhead in Marshfield, MIssouri, in addition to working for the ScoutReach program and leading a crew to New Mexico's Philmont Scout Ranch.. Keaton attended college at Missouri State University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, with a minor in Human Resources Management. At MSU, Keaton served on the Executive Board of Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, was selected for the Emerging Leaders Program, and was a member of the Pride marching band. During his last semester of undergraduate studies, Keaton served as a intern for Senator Kevin Engler in Jefferson City.. After graduating from Missouri State, Keaton went on to Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas, where he was a member of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity and studied comparative constitutional and criminal law while studying abroad in Barbados.
