I was 42 when I got my law degree and I still look forward to coming to work every day and helping our clients. Unlike so many of my colleagues, I have over 25 years of real world experience outside of the practice of law. This breadth of knowledge and experience benefits my clients every day.. I am known for vigorously protecting my clients, particularly when they are victims of emotional or physical abuse. Yes, doing so got me disciplined because the opposing party in a divorce accused me of hurting his son's feelings. Too bad no one in the OARC cared about my client's feelings, or the abuse she has experienced at the hands of her ex-spouse for years. After spending over $22k defending against the accusation, I accepted discipline rather than spending another $30-40k going to formal hearing on the charges. If you handle high conflict divorces, you are bound to get bruised occassionally. If you are looking for an attorney he will go to the mats to protect you, I may be your guy.. My four kids are grown, but our three canine buddies keep the house from getting too quiet. That's Max, our American Foxhound mix, in the photo.. When not practicing law I stay active with my hobby, amateur radio. A former deputy sheriff and firefighter while in college, I am actively involved in disaster preparedness and response. Currently I serve as the Section Emergency Coordinator for the Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES) in the state of Colorado. In that capacity I lead over 700 licensed amateur radio operators who serve their communities during time of need. I am also the State Coordinator and Co-Founder of the Auxiliary Emergency Communications Unit of the Department of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Colorado AuxComm.
