Thomas D. S. Farnsworth was born and raised in Iowa City, Iowa. Thomas received a Bachelor of Business Administration, in Finance, from the University of Iowa and the Henry B. Tippie College of Business. During Thomas' undergraduate experience he clerked at a local law firm and worked as a pretrial interviewer for the Sixth Judicial District of Iowa. In 2004 Thomas began the accelerated program in at the University of Iowa College of Law and graduated in December of 2006. While in law school Thomas was licensed by the Iowa Supreme Court to work as a prosecuting legal intern. Thomas worked as a prosecuting legal intern from May 2005 through December 2006 in Johnson County, Iowa. As an intern he prosecuted simple misdemeanor cases including traffic violations, alcohol offenses, thefts, and assaults. Thomas also assisted in the prosecution indictable related offenses such as Operating While Intoxicated, thefts, embezzlement, and assaults. Thomas began his criminal defense career after passing the bar in 2007. He opened Farnsworth Law Office in 2018.

Eric D. Tindal was born in Iowa City, Iowa and was raised in Kalona, Iowa.   While still in high school Eric joined the United States Army Reserves and he served until 1999.  While in the military Eric was trained as a Combat Medic and a Respiratory Specialist.  From the age of 19 until graduating from law school Eric worked in the intensive care units at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.  Eric also worked for several years at Covenant Medical Center in Waterloo, Iowa and Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa.  This experience proved to be invaluable in working with injured clients and with expert witnesses.. Eric graduated with distinction from the University of Iowa College of Law in May 2000 and started the practice of law in September of that year.  Eric was a founding member of the law firm Saylor and Tindal; and a founding member of the firm Nidey Erdahl Tindal & Fisher, PLC.  During that time Eric practiced in a broad spectrum of areas including but not limited to Criminal Defense in State and Federal Courts, Real Estate, Probate, Workers Compensation, Personal Injury, Tax and Appeals.  Eric has had the privilege of representing clients in dozens of jury trials in state and federal court.  This has included representation in various serious felony offenses including Murder in the First Degree.  The Iowa Bar Association requested that Eric teach new lawyers in Iowa about Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure.  Eric is one of 15 attorneys approved as a Criminal Justice Act (CJA) attorney in the Southern District of Iowa, Davenport Division.  Eric has also argued before the Supreme Court of Iowa, the Iowa Court of Appeals, and the 8th Circuit Court of Appeals.. In 2017 Eric elected to focus his practice in the area of criminal defense, workers compensation, and personal injury.  The Law Office of J. Dean grew up on a grain and livestock farm near Iowa City, passed the Certified Public Accountant exam, and focuses on pre-death estate planning and post-death trust/estate administration. His practice includes (i) establishing revocable (living) trusts to avoid probate and facilitate privacy, (ii) creating wills, trusts and retirement-account beneficiary designations with customized provisions to accomplish family-specific goals, such as delaying inheritances for immature beneficiaries, (iii) implementing powers of attorney for finances and for healthcare/medical directives (living wills), and (iv) administering probate estates and trusts and filing the necessary tax returns.
