My career has been devoted to public service at the local government level. My father was a local government attorney and professor of local government, so you might say that I have local government in my blood. Beginning with the tiny Village of Wardsville I have represented all types of cities over the course of my career; from populations below 200 to above 40,000.  I served for ten years as the city attorney for the City of Jefferson.  In 2012 I was honored to receive the top award for a municipal attorney, the Lou Czech Award in recognition of my professionalism in the field of municipal law.. While attorneys are notorious for saying no, I believe that the art of the practice of law is to find a way to accomplish my client’s goal. I grew up in Farmington, Missouri, went to undergrad at Mizzou, law school at Drake in Iowa, and then earned a post-doctoral degree in law & goernement from the American Univeristy in Washington, D.C. In my career I've handled both civil and crimianl jury trials, I've argued dozens of appeals, won a Missouri Supreme Court case, prosecuted hundreds of serious felonies, defended the State from lawsuits, and much more.
