I'm an Atlanta native, but I've never lived in the actual city of Atlanta.  I like to fish, ride bicycles and motorcycles, and play with cars - driving them, working on them, just looking at them, talking about them, etc.  I love target shooting.  My husband and I have his daughter from his first marriage, a son-in-law, and two wonderful grandkids.  I know from experience what the issues created by a blended family situation are, which helps me immeasurably when dealing with clients who are part of them.  I read insatiably and I try to learn at least one truly new thing everyday, so I read everything from materials which help keep me up to date in my law practice to books and articles about things which I just find interesting, like quantum physics, thermodynamics, marketing, history, other cultures, and studies about how the mind works.  I also believe strongly that we should all attempt to be as polite, fair, honest, and morally and ethically correct as possible in our everyday lives, and I try to live by that belief.

Debra A. Robinson concentrates her practice in the areas of estate planning, probate, elder law, asset protection and business law. Debbie prepares wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, health care directives and prenuptial agreements. She forms business entities including corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies, and prepares business documents such as buy sell agreements and operating agreements. Debbie assists clients with probate and trust administration, as well as guardianships for minors and incapacitated adults. She also provides guidance on Medicaid planning and veterans’ benefits.. Debbie earned her bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University, cum laude, in 1973, and her law degree from The University of Chicago Law School in 1979. Debbie has been practicing law in the metropolitan Atlanta area since 1985.. Debbie’s husband died of cancer at the age of 39, leaving her with two young children to raise alone. Despite her law degree and several years of working in a law firm, she was not prepared for the legal and financial issues she faced as a widow. It was through this personal experience that she found her life’s purpose – to become a skilled estate planning and elder law attorney, and use her expertise to assist her clients to preserve their assets and protect their families in the event of incapacity or death.. She is a former board member of the North Fulton Bar Association.. Debbie is a frequent lecturer on estate planning and elder law issues both to professional and community groups.. Debbie is accredited by the Veteran’s Administration. She has consistently been awarded an AV rating by Martindale Hubbell, which indicates that her peers rank her at the highest level of professional excellence. Since 2014, she has been named by The National Advocates as a Top 100 Lawyer.. Debbie was a hospice volunteer for many years. She now volunteers as a friendly visitor for North Fulton Senior Services and for the Friends of East Roswell Library..
