Ms. Shepherd opened her family practice in September of 2009. She received her B.S. degree in advertising from The University of Texas at Austin in 1987 and worked in advertising before pursuing law school.  She received her J.D. degree from the University of Missouri at Kansas City in 1999, where she served on the Law Review, the Moot Court Board, and the UMKC Trial Team. She has served as on the board of directors for The Lawyers Association of Kansas City, a public service-oriented organization.  With this organization, she is Chair of the Committee for Public Education in the Law and helps put on the Mini Law School for the Public. Ms. Shepherd is also a member of The Missouri Bar and its Solo and Small Firm Committee and a member of the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and its Domestic Relations Committee. Ms. Shepherd was awarded the Tiera Farrow Outstanding Community Member Award in April 2011 by the UMKC Chapter of the Association of Women Law Students for community service in support of women in the law.  She is a member of the Order of Barristers and admitted to practice in Missouri and Kansas.

I am a civil litigation attorney.  The focus of my practice has been employment discrimination and personal injury cases. I have handled employment cases involving wrongful termination, harassment, retaliation, and discriminatory practices based on sex, race, age, disability and other protected negotiate severance agreements and employment agreements.  On the personal injury front, my recent cases include clergy sexual abuse as well  as school or  educator abuse and  harassment of both students and have also litigated malpractice, product liability, vehicular negligence, invasion of privacy and defamation cases.  I am licensed to practice in state and federal courts in Kansas and Missouri. I am also certified as a mediator and would welcome the opportunity to mediate cases within my areas of experience.

Andrew was born in Kansas City, Missouri. He received his B.S. in Journalism from the University of Kansas where he received the Outstanding Business Development/Marketing Award from the School of Journalism.. He received his law degree in 2005 from the University of Missouri - Kansas City. While in law school, Andrew was the Chief Honor Court Prosecutor and a Trial Advocacy Scholar. He is a member of the Order of Barristers.. Andrew's practice concentrates on serious personal injury, products liability, third party security and wrongful death matters. He has handled complex product liability cases involving aircrafts, helicopters, ATVs, Remington Model 700 rifles and various other products. His products liability work has allowed him to develop a national practice handling cases in Alabama, Florida, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Tennessee.
