Phil has been engaged in the practice of law for 25 years in Missouri and Kansas. As a partner at Gunn, Shank & Stover, P.C., he has handled litigation in the areas of business, commercial and personal injury. He also actively practices in domestic relations litigation. Phil has been married to Judy for 34 years, and they have one daughter.

My area of focus is criminal defense law. I represent defendants in municipal, state and federal cases, including DUI, traffic, drivers license hearings, drug possession, trafficking, theft, identity fraud, forgery, bad checks, burglary, robbery, tampering, assault, domestic violence, unlawful use of weapon and sex offenses.  I am also a member of the Volunteer Attorney Project, assisting homeless and indigent defendants pro bono in Kansas City Municipal Court. I am a member of both the Missouri Bar and Kansas Bar, and  licensed to practice in the Western District of Missouri and the District of Kansas.

In 2018 I joined the Kiske Law Office, LLC as an Associate Attorney with the passion to assist you through your life transitions. Prior to joining the Kiske Law Office, I worked as a Document Review Attorney with Epiq Systems. In 2016, I graduated from Washburn University School of Law with honors. During my time in law school, I had the honor to serve as the Executive Research Editor for the Family Law Quarterly during the 2015-2016 school year. I am passionate about helping you through all of your life transitions – from cradle to grave. I’ve been an attorney since 1994, when I was graduated from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, Missouri. I first began the practice of law in Scott County, Missouri as the only public defender assigned to the entire county.  After two years in the rural area, my family and I moved to the Kansas City metro area where I joined the Department of Social Services representing the Children’s Division in child abuse and neglect cases.  After 8 years with the Department of Social Services, I joined the Earnshaw Hobbs Law Firm PC to continuing and broaden my advocacy skills on behalf of families and children. After almost 6 years with Earnshaw Hobbs, I opened my own firm, Kiske Law Office, LLC, in Zona Rosa.  I am licensed in both Missouri and Kansas (and hold an inactive license in Illinois). Because I also like to challenge myself, I am usually engaged in one or two large “extra-curricular” activities. Currently, I am privileged to serve on the Board of Directors for MARCH mediation. I am also a member of the Association of Family and Conciliatory Courts, and I have received the AVVO client’s choice award for Family Law in 2014. In my “free time” I volunteer for a hospice organization where I play flute duets for patients in hospice.. I am also grateful for my personal life experiences that have enabled me to be empathetic with my clients. I have personally been through a divorce with children, experienced the death of a parent, and many of the life transitions that we all experience.. At the Kiske Law Office, LLC, I am responsible for child custody cases, child abuse cases, divorces, paternities, guardianships, and traffic matters, and simple estate planning. I developed the Mobile Lawyer Services to more effectively meet the needs of our aging and disabled clients. I truly enjoy helping clients resolve their parenting and other legal issues. I am grateful for the opportunity to counsel clients on issues related to their family, children and loved ones. Before establishing her own firm, Julie Scott was in-house counsel at Boehringer Ingelheim Vetmedica, Inc. in St. Joseph, Missouri, and practiced law at Polsinelli PC in Kansas City, as well as, Townsend Townsend and Crew (now Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton) in San Francisco.. Prior to law school, Julie was a research scientist. She directed and supervised a molecular genetics laboratory at the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Services in Kerrville, Texas and was a MacArthur Research Fellow at the University of Arizona, Centers for Insect Sciences in Tucson and a National Research Council Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control in Atlanta. Her research focused on the biochemistry associated with metabolizing insecticides; the genetics associated with resistance to insecticides; and the development of technologies to detect resistance. At the Centers for Disease Control, she developed simple, cost-effective methods to distinguish African mosquitoes species from each other.. Julie received a Ph.D. in Entomology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas; a M.S. in Entomology from the University of Missouri-Columbia; and B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries, magna cum laude, from Texas A&M University in College Station.. She is licensed to practice in California, Missouri, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.. She enjoys hiking, biking, gardening, and when she can, playing golf. Agatha Christie is her favorite author. Julie has two pampered cats that work really hard to train their owner.
