I help families protect their loved ones and their assets by simplifying the estate planning process so they can live their life knowing their wishes will be carried out after they pass away.. Hi there! I’m Jolene. I’ve been an attorney for about 20 years. I now run a primarily virtual firm so I can help people throughout the state of California!. When I was in law school I almost didn’t take Wills & Trusts as I thought it sounded boring. My counselor begged me to take it as it was two of the thirteen subjects on the Bar Exam. So I took it. And I LOVED it! In fact, I received the top score in the class!. One of the things I love best about helping people with their estate plan is seeing and hearing about the relief they feel when it’s all done. They feel so much more relaxed! It seriously lifts a great burden they didn’t even know they were carrying.. I also love helping people who have trouble figuring out how to unequally yet fairly distribute their assets. If you are overwhelmed by some difficult choices, don’t worry! I can help. Don’t let that delay the rest of your estate plan.
I have practiced law for over 40 years in the Los Angeles Area. I was raised in North Hollywood, live in Shadow Hills and have practiced law in La Crescenta for over 25 years where I emphasized probate, estate planning, trust administration and probate/trust litigation. I also have a substantial background in real estate and oil and gas law.I also serve on the Board of Directors of the Fond Land Preservation Foundation which purchases and preserves privately owned but publically accessible open space in Los Angeles County. To date, the Foundation has acquired in excess of 550 acres, mostly in the Verdugo Mountains.
I began my career in science. I have a BS in Cell and Molecular Biology and I have worked as a research assistant at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles and as a senior research associate at the University of California Los Angeles.. While in law school, I clerked at an Elder Law firm which focused on Medicaid Qualification, Probate, Guardianships and Estate Planning.. I graduated from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Oregon where I received Honors in Legal Writing and Analysis and was the recipient of the Dean’s Scholarship. I was a regional alternate for the ABA Negotiation Competition Moot Court team and am a proud member of the 2012 Lewis & Clark Intramural Basketball Championship team.. When I am not working, I enjoy basketball, hiking with my dog, Kobe, and spending time with my wife and fellow law partner, Tori. I hope to one day add cooking to my list of hobbies.
