Northeast Indiana is where I grew up and where I now raise my family.  In addition to  practicing law in the community, I stay active through my service in the community and am a member of the South Milford Church of Christ.  I also have served on the Common Council for the City of Kendallville since August 2015.  I look forward to putting my years of experience and knowledge of the area to work for you.

Attorney Heidi R. Cortez was raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She graduated from Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis with a degree in Forensic and Investigative Sciences with an emphasis in Biology.. While obtaining her degree, Heidi interned at the Marion County Coroner’s Office. She went on to obtain her Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law – Houston. During law school, Heidi interned with the Harris County Prosecutor’s Office in Houston, Texas. Additionally, she was a legal assistant at the Law Office of Perry Bass in Houston, Texas.. After graduating from law school at the beginning of the pandemic, she came home to Indiana.Since returning home and passing the Indiana State Bar, Heidi has been practicing law in northeast Indiana.. Her main practice focus is criminal law, and she can also help with family law and civil law issues.. In Heidi’s spare time, she loves spending time with her family or reading a good fiction novel.
