Shawn McBrien has been practicing law since October, 1986 when he was sworn in by the Tennessee Supreme Court. Shawn is a graduate of Cumberland School of Law at Samford University, where his father attended law school while located in Lebanon.. Upon graduating and passing the bar, Shawn began his career in Chattnooga, Tennessee. In 1987, he and his wife Karen moved to Wyoming where he passed the Wyoming bar exam and practiced five years before returning to Lebanon, Tennessee.. Shawn has focused his 30-year career on helping his clients with wills, trusts, estate planning, probate, business development, contract law, business and commercial law/litigation, and family law. Formally trained in Family and Civil Mediation, Shawn regularly mediates family, business and civil matters.. Mr. Cherry handles criminal cases throughout the counties of middle Tennessee.  He regularly handles driving under the influence cases and enjoys great success in representing clients with driving offenses.  He successfully defends those charged with sexual offenses and is currently abreast of the rules and regulations of the Tennessee Sex Offender Registry.. Mr. Cherry regularly represents those that have been convicted of criminal offenses before the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.  In 2012, he was successful in reversing a criminal conviction and a twenty-four year sentence at the Court of Criminal Appeals.  Permission to Appeal was not requested by the State.. Mr. Cherry also handles complex personal injury matters involving all manner of injury.  In 2009, he negotiated a $1,000, settlement in a personal injury wrongful death case in Wilson County, Tennessee.  In that same year, he also negotiated a $600, settlement of a middle Tennessee personal injury matter.  In 2011, he negotiated the lump sum settlement of over $150,000 in a workers’ compensation case in Wilson County and in 2012 he negotiated a lump sum settlement of over $200,000 in a workers’ compensation case.  He regularly works to ensure that his personal injury clients receive the maximum benefit under the law.

Jonathan M. Tinsley is an attorney who focuses in the following areas of the law: probate law, estate planning, wills, trusts, conservatorships/guardianships, business law, and civil litigation such as: real estate litigation, partition suits, landlord/tenant matters (representing landlords), etc. Jonathan practices almost exclusively in the 15th Judicial District of Tennessee which, includes of Wilson County, Tennessee, as well as Smith, Trousdale, Jackson, and Macon. He is a native of Transylvania County, North Carolina and has resided in Wilson County, Tennessee since the fall of 2002. In his spare time Jonathan operates a livestock farm with his son, Solomon, which produces sheep. He also enjoys hiking, canoeing, hunting, fishing, traveling, and almost all outdoor activities.

Jonathan C. Bowman received both his undergraduate degree in Political Science and Philosphy in 1992 and his law degree in 1996 from West Virginia University.

John graduated with honors from the University of Memphis School of Law. While in law school, he was a justice on the Moot Court Board and received the highest-grade award in jurisprudence, fair employment practices, and administrative law. After receiving his law license, John practiced law in Memphis before returning home to Middle Tennessee. In 2002, John began practicing in Wilson County, Tennessee. He served as Special Assistant Public Defender for approximately two years handling numerous criminal matters. Additionally, he has presided as special judge for Wilson County General Sessions and Juvenile Courts as well as presided over the Wilson County Teen Court. To further his expertise as a trial attorney, John attended the American Trial Lawyers Direct Examination College and successfully completed the prestigious two-week intensive jury trial skills program at the National Institute of Trial Advocacy in Colorado.

In December of 2018, I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Technological University. The following August, I started law school while working full-time. In 2020, I began working for Lannom & Williams as the Investigator and Law Clerk to Frank Lannom.. In 2023, I graduated from the Nashville School of Law in May and was admitted to the Tennessee Bar in October. My role in the firm transitioned to an Associate Attorney for our criminal defense team. I am a member of the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defenses Lawyers and the Tennessee Bar Association.. I believe that hard work is required to provide clients with the best representation for their case. No matter the case or the legal issue, the objective is to always be an advocate for the client’s needs and do what is best for the client.

I was raised in Middle Tennesse and I am currently residing in Nashville. I graduated from the University of Tennessee - Knoxville and Nashville School of Law. In 2015, my partner, Tyler Whitaker, and I created The Law Office of Whitaker and Gray. Our office understands that no two cases are the same and we treat each matter with the upmost concern. I was born and raised in rural Tennessee. After attending college at Middle Tennessee State University and law school at Belmont University, I am glad to be back home working out of Lebanon, Tennessee. I enjoy golfing, banking, classical music, and the Nashville Predators.

The description of “trial attorney” must be supported by actual experience.  A successful trial or pretrial settlement begins with methodical preparation.  I have prepared more than a thousand criminal, civil and family law cases for jury and bench trials that have proceeded to verdict and  I have substantially participated in numerous other criminal and civil jury trials, as lead and co-counsel, which have proceeded to verdict.  I have completed more than a thousand evidentiary and pre-trial hearings, as well as numerous post-trial or post-plea sentencing hearings.. I remain active in the community and in professional organizations.  I am honored to serve as co-chair of the Legislative Committee for TACDL (Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers) developing and implementing strategy for legislative advocacy that will benefit all citizens.  I am humbled to serve my Alma Mater, Cumberland University, as an adjunct professor teaching Constitutional and Criminal Law and hope to use this platform to instill the same ethic of hard work I have used to help people through the practice of law.  It was particularly rewarding to be recognized by Cumberland University with the 2013 Distinguished Young Alumni award, considering the many deserving alumni of that school.  I was appointed by the Tennessee Supreme Court to serve as a Hearing Committee Member for the Tennessee Board of Professional Responsibility and I currently still serve in this capacity.  I have been named Mid-South Super Lawyer’s “Rising Star” for the past two years, an award bestowed on me by a panel of my legal peers.

I began working as a law clerk for Lowery, Lowery & Cherry, PLLC in July of 2013.  This firm, primarily dedicated to representing individuals charged with criminal offenses, afforded me the opportunity to hone my skills as a litigator and learn from three of the best in the criminal defense community.  Under Messrs. Jack Lowery, Sr., Jack Lowery Jr., and Jeff Cherry, I have had the opportunity to participate in jury and bench trials, argue motions to suppress, draft appellate briefs to the Courts of Appeals and Criminal Appeals, petition the Tennessee Supreme Court and argue in front of the Court of Appeals.. In 2024, I transitioned to the Law Office of Thomas Maynard.  Here, my areas of practice have largely remained unchanged.  I still enjoy representing individuals in family law, criminal law and general civil litigation.. I was born and raised in a small community North of Lansing, Michigan.  In 2004, I moved to Tennessee to complete my undergraduate at Austin Peay State University.  During this time and for several years after, I worked exclusively in health care.  I began law school in 2010, looking to be better and improve the quality of life for my family and myself.  I finished my legal education at the Nashville School of Law in 2015, graduating second in my class and awarded the Moot Court Award for the best participant in moot court.. My wife of more than 15 years has been with me the entire journey.  Together we have four children (three boys and one girl) and live in between two of Tennessee's finest cities, Mount Juliet and Lebanon.

I now practice as a trial attorney protecting people injured by the negligence of others, whether by a vehicle accident, aviation disaster, or a disability. For more than twenty years,  I have devoted my practice to trial work, specifically work that involves representing and helping families.. Much of my work centers on divorce and custody.  Divorce is a uniquely personal experience.  I help my clients navigate through this difficult time in their lives with dignity, respect, and compassion.. In my adoption practice, I represent adoptive parents, biological parents, and step parents in private and agency adoptions.   For all matters, I help my clients identify their goals and determine how best to achieve them.

I am honored to be a frequent lecturer at legal seminars and webinars to attorneys in Tennessee and across the country.. Most important to my clients - I am an experienced and battle-tested trial attorney with significant courtroom experience, having tried hundreds of cases in front of a judge or jury and obtained millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for my clients.  I have obtained numerous substantial verdicts, including a $6,200, verdict believed to be the largest ever obtained in Sumner County, Tennessee.  In addition to courtroom successes, I have also negotiated hundreds of significant settlements for clients across Tennessee and across the country from California to Pennsylvania.. For example, I represented the estate and minor child of one of the victims of the Comair Flight 5191 crash in Lexington, Kentucky.  During that lengthy litigation—which involved dozens of plaintiffs, numerous defendants, and countless other attorneys—I was actively involved as part of the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee (which guided the litigation for the various Plaintiffs) and served with a group of select attorneys chosen for the Plaintiffs’ trial team. I also recently represented a family whose child was severely injured in a trucking accident. We were able to prove not only liability from the trucking company, but also 3rd party broker liability from the freight broker. That case settled for a Confidential amount.. Although courtroom victories are exciting, the most gratifying part of my work is seeing the benefits that my clients receive as a result of the settlements and/or trial victories achieved. Everyone who is injured in an accident deserves the right to a dignified and secure recovery and my passion is fighting to ensure they get it.
