Rick Reier joined the Knudsen Law Firm in 1975. Laura Essay is originally from Elkhorn, Nebraska. Laura received a
Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Nebraska
Wesleyan University, and graduated with highest distinction in 2006. Following graduation, Laura enrolled in the University of
Nebraska-Lincoln College of Law where she received the Martin N. Erck
Memorial Scholarship. While in law school, Laura received CALI
Excellence for the Future Awards for attaining the highest overall
grades in Advanced Legal Research and Pretrial Litigation. She was also
actively involved as the Program Coordinator for the Community Legal
Education Program. Laura received her J.D. degree in May of 2009. After law school, Laura served as the Director of Community Relations
for the 2010 Special Olympics USA National Games. She joined the Knudsen
Law Firm in August of 2010. Laura is licensed to practice law in the
U.S. District Court of Nebraska and is a member of the Nebraska State
Bar Association. Laura is also licensed to practice law in the State of
Colorado. In her free time, Laura enjoys traveling with her husband,
running with her dog, and reading.

Kelsey is a Nebraska native, born and raised in Blair.  She attended Creighton University, majoring in Theater with a minor in Legal Studies and Criminal Justice Policy.  She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in 2011.  Kelsey attended the University Of Nebraska College Of Law where she completed the Litigation Skills Program of Concentrated Study, was elected by the faculty to the Order of the Barristers, and earned her law degree in 2014.. Kelsey became certified as a Mediator by the Office of Dispute Resolution for the State of Nebraska and the University OfNebraska College Of Law during her law school studies.  She also participated on the school’s Trial Team, Arbitration Team, Mediation Team, and International Mediation Team.  Kelsey was awarded the Outstanding Advocate Award and won the intra-school competition for the International Mediation competition.  Kelsey worked as a law clerk for two different small firms and participated in the Civil Clinic and Criminal Clinic at the law school. Through these experiences Kelsey gained an understanding of administrative law, family law, personal injury, and estate planning.. Kelsey is a Guinness World Record Holder for the fastest time (17.92 seconds) to border a Lego  base plate.  Kelsey’s other special talents include singing, swing dancing, and theater. Kelsey is licensed to practice law in Nebraska at both the state and federal level.

Jeanelle Lust is the managing partner at the Knudsen Law Firm where she has practiced since 1994. Jeanelle is a multi-faceted trial lawyer who focuses on commercial litigation. She has represented clients in such varied lawsuits as RICO claims, professional malpractice (claims involving doctors, lawyers, and accountants), automobile accidents, and bankruptcy. Jeanelle also handles all aspects of Nursing Home litigation including licensure matters.Jeanelle is a native of Madison, South Dakota. She graduated cum laude from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD in 1991. She attended Creighton University School of Law, graduating summa cum laude in 1994. Jeanelle finished number one in her graduating class, receiving the Faculty of Law Highest Triennial Average Award for having the highest grade point average after each year in law school, and was Assistant Editor of the Creighton Law Review. Jeanelle is presently a member of the Publications Committee of the Nebraska Bar Association that publishes and edits the Nebraska Lawyer Magazine. She is a member of the bar in South Dakota, Nebraska and Colorado.Jeanelle is a charter Fellow in the Litigation Counsel of America and is participating in Inns of Court as a Master of the Bar. She is a frequent Continuing Legal Education Speaker (CLE) for the National Business Institute (NBI). Following graduation from law school, Shirley Williams was a law clerk for Hon. Nick D. Caporale on the Nebraska Supreme Court. She joined the Knudsen Law Firm in 1986 and her primary areas of practice are workers’ compensation, environmental law and general trial practice. She is a member of the Lincoln and Nebraska State Bar Associations, the NSBA Workers’ Compensation Section and Natural Resources and Environmental Law Section.. Shirley was born in Sargent, Nebraska, and graduated cum laude from Kearney State College in 1980 with a degree in journalism. She was a member of the Society of Collegiate Journalists and was voted “most promising reporter” on the student newspaper.. Shirley received her J.D. degree with distinction from the University of Nebraska College of Law in 1984. She was Executive Editor of the Nebraska Law Review, a member of the Order of the Coif national legal honorary, and the recipient of American Jurisprudence Awards in evidence and remedies and damages.. Shirley’s community activities include service on church committees, involvement with school booster groups and prior service on the boards of directors of the Denney Building Child Care Association and the Childbirth and Parent Education Association of Lincoln. She and her husband, David, have two children, Owen and Emma.
