Arthur A. Leonard is a 1981 graduate of Tulane University Law School (cum laude), and has since then been primarily engaged in the practice of admiralty and maritime law and related areas, including personal injury and the claims under the Longshore and Harbor Workers’ Compensation Act. He is a member of the bars of the states of Louisiana and California. Mr. Leonard has been a proctor member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States since 1982 and is a past member of the Association’s Stevedoring and Terminal Operations Committee. He has been in private practice throughout his career with the exception of several years during which he was in house counsel for a petroleum refining company and marine fuel terminal company. Mr. Leonard has served as lead counsel in jury and non jury trials in the State and federal courts of California, has participated in jury trials in the federal courts of Louisiana, and is a past participant of the Los Angeles County Bar Association’s Trial Attorney Project. He has also handled a number of cases before the appellate courts of California, Louisiana and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Reported cases include: Sanborn v.
