Mr. Savoy, a native to Los Angeles, graduated from California State University, Northridge with high academic honors.  Mr. Savoy attended Southwestern Law School, where he was named to the Dean's List and graduated in the top of his class.  Mr. Savoy has worked in both the private and government sectors, where he has gained invaluable experience and connections.  While in Law School, he clerked at the Office of the Ventura County Public Defender, as well as the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office.  In the private sector, Mr. Savoy worked at the Law Offices of Bruce Margolin, a Criminal Defense Firm.. Hooman Kazemi serves as a Deputy Public Defender with the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office, where he is currently a Trainer.  He trains newly hired lawyers in advanced trial advocacy and substantive principles and mentors them through their first trials.  Previously he defended clients through Jury Trial against all types of felony charges filed by the prosecutor's office. Mr. Kazemi has tried nearly 75 cases to judges and juries at the felony, juvenile, and misdemeaner level, achieving exceptional results. In recognition of his outstanding trial record, Mr. Kazemi was named 2010 California Trial Lawyer of the Year by the state-wide criminal defense bar assocation The Private Defenders.. As an expert in Juvenile Law, I have co-edited a book about the collateral consequences of juvenile court involvement, and have also argued juvenile matters in both the California Court of Appeal and California Supreme Court.   In addition, I have testified as a juvenile law expert at the California State Capitol and have worked on legislation for juvenile issues.. Because of my experience, I give talks on both a state and national level regarding juvenile law issues.  I have presented to judges, prosecutors, defense attorneys, investigators, medical professionals, law schools, and other institutions.
