Based in Louisville, Kentucky, Richard Breen Law Offices, P.S.C. is an aggressive law firm with deep roots in the Louisville community. Since 1979, Richard Breen has been representing clients across the state of Kentucky, and today is engaged almost exclusively in representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases.. We represent people, individuals, not insurance companies, for car wrecks, tractor trailer crashes, construction site claims, wrongful death, insurance claims, class actions and much more.. Richard Breen was nine years old when he decided he wanted to be a lawyer when he grew up.. Several years later, as a freshman at Louisville's St. Xavier High School, Breen chose a St. Xavier jersey with the number 79, he says, "because that was the year that I would graduate from law school.". When Breen finished law school at the University of Louisville, in 1979 of course, he took a temporary job with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office while he studied for the Bar exam. Not long after he was admitted to the bar, Breen joined a respected personal injury firm. As a Partner in the firm, Breen started with a broad practice that evolved into personal injury law. "I always wanted to try damage cases in front of juries.". In 1993 he decided to set up his own practice. He opened Richard M. Breen Law Offices, which now consists of Breen and one associate. The firm is engaged almost exclusively in representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases. "The office is not too big and we all get along well with each other and work really hard for our clients.". 90 to 95 percent of his cases are settled before trial, "because most of my clients are reasonable, good-hearted people who will usually take a fair offer. If a fair offer doesn't come, then we represent them on their day in court.". Still, Breen says he never forgets some advice he long ago: If you prepare a case for trial, a settlement can happen any time along the way.. "So I've always tried to get a case ready for trial from the get-go. I’m not afraid of hard work and I try to be creative.". Breen has been very active in the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys, now Kentucky Justice Association, and the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, now American Association for Justice.. He moved to a suburban office building for the convenience of his clients, some of whom "don't like the hassles of going downtown.". Every client's case is personally handled or supervised by Richard Breen, a certified personal injury specialist by the National Board of Trial Advocacy.. The firm is AV-Rated (the highest rating) by the prestigious Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory. Richard Breen Law Offices is committed to protecting the rights of injured accident victims. The firm never represents insurance companies or product manufacturers, only people.. For free answers to your questions about accidents and injuries, visit our site: or email us as

As someone who has been an accident victim and who has worked with insurance companies as a defense attorney in the past, Marti understands how people feel when they’ve suffered losses through no fault of their own, and she’s aware of the tactics insurers use to reduce the compensation those victims receive. The unique perspective created by her experiences drives Marti to ensure every client receives her undivided attention and dedicated pursuit of the full compensation they deserve for their injuries and also gives her the advantage of knowing how to anticipate and prepare for defense trial strategies. As an accomplished trial attorney with a formidable track record, Marti provides every client with compassionate, committed, and competent representation while working hard to maximize their recovery and restore their lives. Born and raised in the farm country around Bowling Green, Kentucky, Marti developed the self-determination and work ethic you’ll find in America’s rural families. She spent much of her youth in Louisville and chose to attend the University of Louisville for her undergraduate work and her law degree. Marti graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville and near the top of her class from the University of Louisville Louis D. Brandeis School of Law where she was a contributing author to the Journal of Family Law. She began her legal career at a large law firm that defended insurance companies before accepting a partnership at another Evansville firm, where she transitioned to helping seriously injured people fight for the compensation they needed. Marti finds helping individuals extremely rewarding, particularly when she gets to share the news that their case has been successfully resolved and their needs will be taken care of because of her work. She considers it a blessing to be able to serve her clients by helping them recover physically, emotionally, and financially.. As a Certified Clinical Research Professional, Marti has extensive experience working with the development and approval of new drugs and medical devices. That expertise enhances her ability to help people who have suffered because of the unsafety or harmful effects of a particular medication or a piece of medical equipment.. When she’s not helping her clients, Marti enjoys remaining active in the community, particularly in children Emily and Tyler’s extracurricular activities. She’s a longtime member of Louisville’s Southeast Christian Church.
As a mom of three teenagers and active triathlete, you can imagine I lead a pretty busy life. I am blessed to have a great husband and wonderful family that supports all I do, and they are always there to help out.. For those of you who know me, you know Ironman has changed my life! Training for triathlons took me from ex-college-athlete to fit mom. More importantly, through Ironman I have had the privilege of working with some of the best volunteers in Louisville! Every aid station on the mile race is covered by folks from a local non-profit, church or charity who are volunterering their time in the sun and heat not just to raise money for their causes, but to help people who are struggling to achieve their lifetime dream! These groups cheer us on, give us water when we are dehydrated, food when we are seeing double, and emotional support every step of the way. I have been honored to be a volunteer and help raise money through The Ironman Foundation for my church, Our Lady of Lourdes, and thrilled to be a competitor who has been supported by my family and fellow parishioners. This year I am competing not just to finish, but to give back to my community. This year I don't compete for Sheila -- I Tri for Louisville, the City I Love!. This is an advertisement.
