Dr. Robert Vogel is unique in the legal profession: an attorney who is also a practicing physician.. Dr. Vogel has worked in Lynchburg for over 20 years, serving as an ophthalmologist specializing in the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases. He continues to practice at Piedmont Eye Center where he has successfully treated thousands of patients.. After graduating magna cum laude from Liberty University School of Law in May of 2014, Dr. Vogel joined Overbey, Hawkins & Wright, of Counsel, in November of 2015. He practices general criminal and civil litigation.. While at Liberty, Dr. Vogel was an active member of the negotiation, moot court and client counseling teams. He was also a member of Law Review, which allows top students to write and publish an article of legal academic interest. Not surprisingly, Dr. Vogel chose to write on a health law related subject concerning fraud in our health care system.. Dr. Vogel also attended the University of Virginia School of Law as a visiting student, concentrating in health law. He founded the Liberty University Health Law Society and currently teaches at Liberty University’s medical school.. Upon graduation, Dr. Vogel received the coveted Spirit of Liberty Award. This accolade is given to the graduating student who most embodies the spirit and mission of the Law School. Due to receiving this award, Dr. Vogel spoke at the Law School graduation ceremony.. Many people ask Dr. Vogel why they should choose a lawyer who is also a physician. He says that many of the same skills that led him to become a successful physician will carry over to his practice of law. Most notable are empathy and compassion for the client as they navigate the legal system. Dr. Vogel combines these skills with knowledge of the law to strongly advocate for his clients.. Dr. Vogel is married to Lisa Vogel, who is also a practicing attorney. They have three daughters and three grandchildren. Dr. Vogel enjoys swimming and stand up paddling boarding. He and his wife attend Calvary Chapel Church in Lynchburg.

Chatocwa McWhorter graduated Magna Cum Laude from Marymount College of Fordham University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree. While at Fordham, she received the Psychology Department Medal for attaining the highest grade point average in the department and another medal for having one of the top grade point averages in the Legal and Policy Studies Department. Chatocwa is a member of four academic honor societies including Alpha Sigma Nu and Delta Epsilon Sigma. Chatocwa went on to receive her juris doctorate from Liberty University School of Law. After graduation, Chatocwa gained considerable knowledge as an Assistant Public Defender for the Newport News Public Defender’s Office and as an Associate Attorney for Patel and Dalrymple, PLLC. Chatocwa has handled thousands of legal matters and will put her experience to work for you.
