As a child in Kennewick, Washington, I saw my parents work every day at growing their small business and striving to give back to the community. Although I was raised in a small town in eastern Washington, I’ve lived and worked in the greater Seattle area for the past two decades. I attended the University of Washington and obtained my Juris Doctor from Seattle University.  We're a family of Washington and for Washington, on both sides of the mountain.. As an insurance adjuster, I was trained in multiple specialties and sent all over the United States to handle catastrophic claims. I saw firsthand how the system took advantage of the people involved in these accidents who didn’t fully understand their rights. You see, adjusters often intentionally withhold crucial information from policy holders in an effort to avoid issuing benefits they’re entitled to. In turn, adjusters are then bonused based on how much money they are able to save the company.. So I switched sides to level the playing field. I now work tirelessly to ensure my clients know more than the insurance companies, instead of the other way around. Attorney Crystal Alford has a passion for the rights of families, parents, and individuals that grew out the love of her large extended family—16 aunts and uncles total! Following this clerkship, she served as a law clerk to Superior Court Chief Judge Maria Berkenkotter.
