Our practice is devoted to serving clients in the highly specialized areas of estate and business planning. My practice has been concentrated for the past 28 years in the areas of estate planning, business planning and tax.  I have written hundreds of Wills and Trusts, Durable Powers of Attorney, HIPAA Authorizations and Living Wills in the process of helping clients plan for their own disability and to give what they have at their death to whom they want, when they want, and the way they want, and to save every court cost, tax dollar and attorney fee possible.. I have also assisted clients with forming hundreds of business entities while at the same time planning to save estate and income taxes and prepare the business for transition to the next generation of family, or prepare the business for sale so our client can retire.. Because the type of legal work that I have done also includes working with real estate, retirement accounts, oil and gas interests, and other types of property, I have developed the ability to assist clients in the purchase and sale of their prooperty.  The licenses I hold as a real estate broker, title insurance agent and abstracter also give me unique knowledge and experience with real estate.. My desire as an attorney is to use my knowledge and understanding of the law, business and people to help my clients achieve their goals and aspirations in the most effecient and effective way.

John's practice is limited to criminal defense.  He has handled a wide range of cases from kidnapping and rape to DUIs and other traffic offenses.  His wife Elizabeth is also an attorney.  They have three wonderful daughters and an energetic son.. In his off time, John enjoys traveling with his family (frequently to Disney World), scuba diving, and BBQing.  John's smoked ribs have been called the best on the planet by many.

I am an army brat that graduated Manhattan High School.  I recieved my undergraduate at Kansas State University and my Law Degree at University of Kansas.  I was the city prosecutor for Manhattan for five years before opening the law firm in 2005.

Arvid V. "Vic" Jacobson is a Kansas native who was born and raised in the city of Lawrence. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology and Political Science in 1969. He went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from the University of Kansas in 1972. He has served as the president of the Military Law Section of the Kansas Bar Association, which makes him especially equipped to handle military family law cases. He is also a member of the Riley County and Kansas (Family Law Section) Bar Associations and a fellow of the Kansas Bar Foundation. Vic is able to practice before Kansas state and federal courts, offering a wide range of family law services such as divorce, child custody, child abduction, and paternity cases.

After graduating from the Washburn School of Law I worked as an Assistant Riley County Attorney. I was responsible for prosecuting traffic, misdemeanor, and drug/violent felony cases. After deciding that I wanted to open my own law practice I left the Riley County Attorney's Office and opened my firm in 2008. My practice handles family law cases including divorce, child support, parenting time modification and enforcement, adoption, and post-motion and appeals to the Kansas Court of Appeals. I also provide representation for traffic and criminal charges. I have served as the Deputy Public Defender for the North Central Public Defender Office and have represented clients charged with all levels of felonies.
