Margaux Soeffker is a family law attorney with eighteen years of experience in private practice including divorce, custody, child support, post-decree actions, adoption and child protection matters. She founded her own boutique family law firm in 2018.. Margaux is a recognized Super Lawyer® and was previously recognized in Minnesota as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers®.In addition to her experience as a practicing attorney, Margaux previously worked as a law clerk in Hennepin County District Court, in criminal court. She has found her clerkship experience to be invaluable as she can better relate to court administration, court staff, and being a law clerk demystified the experience of appearing in court. By way of background, Margaux grew up in Westport, Connecticut. After attending college at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, Margaux moved to Minneapolis to attend Law School at the University of Minnesota in 2002, and never left. She now resides in the West Metro with her husband, children, and mini Goldendoodle. In her free time Margaux enjoys spending time with her family, networking, yoga, trying new restaurants, listening to podcasts/Audible and catching up with her "Law School Ladies.” What Margaux likes about the practice of family law is how multi-faceted her work is as it involves client interaction, collaboration with other lawyers, legal writing and research, appearing in court, participating in alternative dispute resolution sessions, and helping people through one of the most difficult events in their lives. She also finds family law stimulating because it intersects with other areas of the law and other subject matters (psychology, tax issues, financial issues, real estate matters, bankruptcy, child development, etc.) providing interaction with professionals in other fields as well. Margaux also has an appreciation for the fact that family law has moved more towards an emphasis on forms of alternative dispute resolution and settlement early on in the process rather than litigation. She believes this betters serves the parties involved. Family law cases can be emotionally-charged, high conflict and can at times involve complex financial and/or social issues. Margaux adeptly keeps her clients informed about the process and their options along the way, she is able to manage the difficult dynamics that come with family law work and does so in a professional and courteous manner. With her background and experience in family law, Margaux is knowledgeable and offers a wealth of resources for her clients.. Margaux enjoys building working relationships with clients and gaining an understanding of their specific concerns and objectives.
I focus on lawsuits involving defective automobiles, and warranty and service agreement disputes. Gadtke Law Firm, P.A. is widely known as the leading lemon law law firm in Minnesota and for very good reason: I am is a former automobile industry trial lawyer and have handled more than 2,000 lemon law cases in Minnesota and Wisconsin on behalf of consumers. With 24 years of experience in successfully resolving lemon law lawsuits, I have also argued multiple cases before the Minnesota Court of Appeals, as well as the Minnesota Supreme Court and the federal 8th Circuit Court of Appeals. In so doing, we have made favorable law on behalf of Minnesota consumers – we go the distance required to get the results you deserve. My deep knowledge of this area of the law, along with our firm's willingness to take on challenging cases and our strong track record, has helped thousands of Minnesota consumers with their problem vehicles.. Because of our reputation for achieving results for our clients, we often receive referrals from other attorneys in Minnesota. They recognize our consistent determination to help consumers right the wrongs that they experience after buying automobiles that prove to be lemons. In the words of one peer in the legal community, attorney Todd Gadtke demonstrates “a firm desire to help his clients get the best result they can as fast as they can.”. When we believe in a client’s case, we are not intimidated by large manufacturers or their in-house legal counsel. We stand for consumers’ rights, and our clients’ legal opponents soon realize that it is in their interests to do the right thing and compensate our clients appropriately.
I decided at a young age to pursue a career in the law, telling friends and family members since I was a teenager that I wanted to be a divorce attorney. After earning my degree in Criminology and Political Science from the University of Minnesota-Duluth, I graduated from William Mitchell College of Law, where I worked as a research assistant for the Dean of the college. I am flexible in my approach with clients, working as a member of their team and providing advice while including them in the process every step of the way. I am a trained member of the Collaborative Law Institute, helping clients divorce with dignity and respect. I continue to be actively involved in the Collaborative Law Institute, including serving as a board member beginning in 2015. Where the collaborative process is not the right fit for clients, I provide advocacy through a court-based process. I am passionate about finding a process and result that is individualized for my client and meets their goals and needs.
