Lauren joined Meriwether & Tharp in 2022 after graduating from Atlanta's John Marshall Law School. Prior to law school Lauren attended Kennesaw State University and graduated magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with a minor in Spanish. During her time in law school, she participated on the Moot Court Team, served as a Peer Mentor, and worked as a Teacher's Assistant in the Legal Writing and Research department. Throughout her time in law school, she interned at Charlton & Glover where she developed her passion for family law and desire to give clients the best possible experience.. On a personal note, Lauren has lived in Woodstock, Georgia her entire life. She is an avid equestrian who shows on the Arabian/Half-Arabian Sport Horse circuit, competing in classes from hunter-jumper to dressage. She is the proud owner of Legacy Stables of Woodstock, her home farm where her menagerie of animals happily live together. Regardless of where she is, you can usually find her dog, Koda, right by her side.

Jeff Dickerson is a criminal trial attorney who limits his practice to DUI and drug defense.  He is a former prosecutor who served on the Narcotics and Organized Crime litigation team in the Houston County District Attorney's Office, and he frequently writes and speaks on issues relating to the defense of DUI and drug crimes.  Jeff has successfully handled over 1000 cases in the course of his 15 year career.

I came into the law practice because I love people. I like to get to know them, understand their lives, and help make things better. I grew up in a small community, and I always thought lawyers were somewhat unsavory. But, my parents both ran small businesses, and I saw them encounter everyday legal problems, and through them, I learned that lawyers could provide invaluable help and assistance. I wanted to be someone who could be an expert, who could provides answers and possibilities. That led me to my passion for family law. My favorite part of my job is helping clients find their way through a legal maze and come out on the other side, having survived something life-changing.

Gina Grady has been a partner at Meriwether and Tharp, LLC since 2023 and was nominated as a Georgia Super Lawyer in 2023.  She started her legal career in 2002 and was a public defender for 5 years before moving her practice to Gwinnett County to expand her legal experience, keeping her focus on appointed legal work representing those who could not afford an attorney.  She was a founding attorney for two special courts, Gwinnett County Veterans’ Treatment Court and Gwinnett County Mental Health Court, created for those willing to get the right treatment and lead more productive lives.  When she moved to  Cobb County in 2014, she turned her focus to family law and has been practicing exclusively in family law since then.. The one word used most often to describe Gina is “focused.” With extensive experience in a number of legal practice areas, including family law, criminal defense, and general civil litigation, she will find the right solution to even the most complex divorce and family law challenges. Gina has first-hand experience with divorce so she understands how emotional the process can be. Clients find Gina to be very calm and reassuring but ready to fight when needed to protect them.. When Gina is not practicing law, you’ll find her spending quality time with her three daughters and extended family.

Courtney H. Carpenter is a native of Marietta, Georgia. She began her career at Meriwether & Tharp in 2011, and provides representation in all areas of the firm’s family law practice.. Courtney earned her Juris Doctor degree from Emory University School of Law. While at Emory, Courtney participated in the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society and volunteered her time at Student Legal Services, a public interest program that provides pro bono legal services to those in need in the Emory community. Additionally, Courtney worked as a research assistant to Professor Victoria F. Nourse, which allowed her to further hone her legal research and writing skills. Prior to law school, Courtney graduated magna cum laude from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science, a Minor in International Affairs, and a Certification in Professional Politics.. Courtney has a passion for helping her clients through difficult times in their lives. She works diligently to obtain the best result possible for her clients based on their individual goals. Courtney is a trained Guardian ad Litem.. Courtney enjoys spending time with her family, cooking, college football, and outdoor activities.
