You should know that I was suspended for 30 days for, in essence, inconveniencing the court. I was found to have engaged in conduct that was deemed prejudicial to the administration of justice. That conduct consists of: (1) appearing by telephone without prior authorization of the Josephine County Court; (2) not answering the telephone call of the Josephine County Court because either the receptionist was using the bathroom at the time of the call or the office telephone system malfunctioned; (3) missing a court appearance in Josephine County because my calendaring clerk made a clerical error; and (4) the late filing of a motion to postpone a trial in Josephine County.  In my experience, Josephine County Oregon is a unique place. As a result of the suspension, I have changed the way that I handle my business. I have replaced the office telephone system and I personally attend to all of my calendaring needs. I no longer rely on any employee in any dealing with the Josephine County Court.    Commonly, lawyers are suspended for misconduct for an act of fraud, deceit, dishonesty, criminal conduct, or misrepresentation that reflects adversely on the lawyer's fitness to practice law. I was not suspended for anything like that. I hope that you will read my reviews and qualifications and conclude that I am worthy of your trust.

Kelly L. Andersen is a 1979 graduate of the Brigham Young University School of Law at Provo, Utah. He has served as a trial attorney since that time. A bit about my academic background:. I graduated from Willamette University College of Law magna cum laude. I received the National Association of Women Lawyers Outstanding Law Graduate Award and the Bruce Spaulding Memorial Award for Trial Advocacy. During law school, I served as Editor-in-Chief of Willamette Law Online, Executive Editor of the Willamette Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution, was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society, a volunteer for the Willamette University Public Interest Law Project, and served in various positions in other extra-curricular groups. My interest in serving people and justice led me to work with injured people trying to get their lives back on track and families seeking justice after the wrongful death of a loved one. I am a member of the Oregon State Bar Association, the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and the Jackson County Bar Association. I am also a member of the American Association for Justice, the American Board of Trial Advocates, and the Melvin Belli Society. During law school, I worked one-on-one with struggling students to help teach them legal writing and research methods. I worked on plaintiff-side issues in worker’s compensation and social security disability by helping research, develop, and edit briefs for filing in an administrative forum, in the U.S. Federal District Court, and in the Oregon Court of Appeals. I worked as a legal intern in the International Human Rights Clinic on a report on Oregon’s infrastructure response to human trafficking published in June 2010. I worked with a team for End Child Prostitution and Trafficking (ECPAT) in New York to analyze the laws regarding child prostitution in all 50 states. I also helped prepare draft rules and commentary for the Committee to Review the Oregon Judicial Code. In addition to my law degree, I also earned a Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA). While studying for my MBA, I was named a Willamette MBA Scholar, received the Exceptional Performance Award for Integrated Knowledge Evaluation Week, and won the Fitzhenry Joint Degree Scholar Award.. I regularly attend continuing education conferences at the state and national levels. High-quality ongoing education helps me stay on top of the best practices and research on injury cases and trial work. I also read the best books on these topics. From a young age, I have been involved in community service. From volunteering with programs to serve the homeless, to working with young children at my church, I have always enjoyed helping others. The same passion and drive that sent me to Mexico to build houses for homeless families led me to law school. I have continued volunteering for community groups and am involved in many activities, including organizing and speaking at events raising awareness about human trafficking in Oregon.
