He received the American Jurisprudence Award for Appellate Argument. Mr. Peel received his Bachelor of Arts degree, summa cum laude, in history from the University of Memphis in 1985. He was a Cecil C. Humphreys Presidential Scholar and a member of Phi Kappa Phi..
