Area(s) of Practice: Estate Planning

After many years at a Seattle based firm, I have set sail on my own and founded Baxter Law PLLC, a firm founded on service, commitment, dedication, and results. My practice areas are primarily in: estate planning, probate, guardianship (adult and minor) and business formation.. Prior to practicing law, I proudly served in the United States Coast Guard. After graduation from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, I was a deck watch officer, driving one of the Coast Guard’s 180’ buoy tenders out of San Francisco, CA. I transferred to Seattle in 1997 where I worked as a Marine Vessel Inspector, inspecting a variety of commercial vessels, and as a Coast Guard Marine Casualty and Personnel Investigator.  As an investigator, I was tasked with various casualties including: vessel collisions, alisions, near misses, and violations of the Coast Guard regulations. I also represented the Coast Guard in Suspension and Revocation Proceedings against merchant mariners for violations of laws and regulations. My work as a CG Investigator inspired me to pursue a legal career.  After serving in the Coast Guard, I went to law school and practiced primarily maritime law.  After several years of practicing, I decided to focus on estate planning, probate, and guardianship.  I am passionate about helping people and families with getting their estate plans in order - emergency preparedness as I like to call it.  The maritime industry remains very near and dear to my heart.. In my free time I like to spend time with my family, garden, ski, bike, attend orange therory fitness, help in the local schools, volunteer in the community, and to referee youth soccer!
