Despite her apparent success, Mahaley's roots ran deep, and when the opportunity presented itself, Mahaley was eager to return to her hometown and practice law with Jinks Crow.. Mahaley lives in the Cloverdale area of Montgomery where she attends First United Methodist Church. In her free time, Mahaley enjoys running, tennis, and watching her sons play tennis and baseball.
